Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Pedro Lopez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eliah Marshal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Marshal has chosen "Straight Outta Compton" by NWA as his entrance music. Eliah Marshal will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
16 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Pedro Lopez! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
32 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Eliah Marshal! The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Chris Saunders and Paul Gruel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A head kick misses from Marshal. Marshal doesn't manage to clinch there - Lopez circles away.
A telegraphed right hand from Lopez misses the target. Lopez fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Marshal looks like he wants to counter punch here. Marshal keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Marshal throws out a counter right but Lopez avoids it with no problem. Lopez throws out a powerful jab. Marshal throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Lopez gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Lopez connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Lopez goes for a double leg but Marshal avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Marshal continues to drive forward. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Pedro Lopez. That's going to take a lot out of him. Marshal clinches. I was talking to Lopez's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight. Knees to the body from Marshal.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Marshal. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Marshal slowing the pace effectively. Lopez is trying to force a seperation but Marshal has the dominant position. Marshal lands a hook that snaps the head of Lopez backwards. Marshal throws a knee to the head but misses.
Lopez drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Marshal lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected. Marshal stuffs the takedown. Marshal keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Marshal takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Lopez scores with a hook. Marshal pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Marshal slips under a jab. Lopez jabs Marshal right on the nose. Marshal blinks but takes it well. Marshal moves away from the strike by Lopez. Marshal is looking to clinch. Lopez drops down looking for a counter takedown but Marshal sprawls and moves away. Marshal misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Lopez slips under a jab from Marshal. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Marshal moves into the clinch. Marshal keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Lopez's efforts to push away. Marshal lands with a short shot to the head.

It looks like Pedro Lopez has been cut. Lopez is struggling to control the position. Lopez tries to stall but Marshal uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

Lopez tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Marshal just stands there and leans against the cage. Marshal landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.
A nice right hand lands inside from Marshal. Marshal scores with a hook to the body. Lopez is breathing heavily. A bit of stalling here from Lopez.
Marshal escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Lopez misses with an uppercut. Marshal misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Lopez.
Lopez paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. A right-left combo lands from Lopez. Marshal throws a head kick that misses. Marshal has worked on his takedown defense in the runup to this fight and it is paying off so far. Lopez shoots in but doesn't get the takedown enabling Marshal to counter with a crisp jab. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Marshal cracks Lopez with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Marshal tries to close the distance and clinch up but Lopez swats him away and circles back towards the center. Lopez shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Marshal eats them both and turns towards Lopez to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo. Lopez shoots in for a double leg but Marshal sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Marshal with a jab.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A shot to the liver by Marshal. Beautiful body shot. Marshal ducks under a wild hook from Lopez. Marshal uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Lopez. Eliah Marshal is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Marshal clinches up against the cage. Marshal lands with a right to the head. Lopez pulls Marshal into guard.
Marshal is looking to work some ground and pound but Lopez has wrist control. Marshal preventing the sweep. Lopez is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Marshal wants to pass the guard but Lopez is keeping the position. The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Lopez is looking for a triangle here but Marshal uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Lopez is looking for a sweep. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Eliah Marshal dominated that round. The cut man is working on Pedro Lopez's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Marshal changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Lopez walks forward, straight into a front kick from Marshal. Eliah Marshal seems to be getting the better of the standup. Lopez drives through with a takedown into Marshal's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Marshal is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Lopez presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat. Marshal lands an elbow just above Lopez 's eye. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Marshal lands with a short head shot on the inside. Marshal has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight. Marshal lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. Lopez stalling in the clinch but Marshal improves position. Marshal lands an elbow that stopped Lopez in his tracks for a moment. A short right from Marshal. Marshal lands a glancing elbow in the clinch. Marshal has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Marshal prevents Lopez from breaking the clinch. Marshal lands a hook to the side of the head. Lopez fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Marshal lands an elbow that stopped Lopez in his tracks for a moment. Marshal lands a nice elbow from the clinch. Eliah Marshal seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far. Marshal lands a knee to the head.

Pedro Lopez's cut is getting worse. Marshal controlling the position. Oh Lopez is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Marshal decides to stand up, so the ref orders Lopez to his feet. Marshal circles and sees the opportunity to plant his feet and throw a really nice straight left hand that drops Lopez to the canvas! Lopez doesn't know where he is but he's trying to survive - Marshal keeps piling on the pressure and forces the referee to step in! This one is aaaaaall over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:42 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Eliah Marshal! Eliah Marshal is the new featherweight champion! Eliah Marshal decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
