Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Knuckles OToole (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Charles RIck (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Knuckles OToole has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Knuckles OToole!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Charles RIck!
The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Franklyn Lucas and Anthony Taglia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
RIck misses with a takedown
and OToole counters with a series of strikes. RIck will be more careful next time no doubt.
RIck looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? OToole is fending him off so far but RIck persists. Nope, OToole circles away and we're back to standing.
Charles RIck seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
RIck tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but OToole swivels and escapes.
Knuckles OToole has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Charles RIck.
RIck shoots and misses
and OToole counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

RIck dives in and scores a takedown into OToole's guard.
RIck tries to free his leg and advance position but OToole is retaining full guard.
OToole keeping moving, preventing RIck from controlling successfully.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

RIck drops back looking for a leg! OToole is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and OToole manages to kick RIck off! RIck jumps back into OToole's guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.

RIck thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
RIck looking to pass the guard.
OToole controls RIck momentarily but RIck frees himself.
RIck trying to control the position from guard on top but OToole is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
OToole is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

RIck thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
RIck won't allow OToole to sweep him here.
OToole knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for RIck on the ground.
RIck trying to control the position from guard on top but OToole is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
RIck has his takedown stuffed
and OToole counters with a nice body shot.
RIck looks winded!
RIck tries to score a power double leg takedown but OToole sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten RIck somewhat.

OToole lands a big head kick that sends RIck tumbling to the mat! OToole takes a step backwards and waves RIck back to his feet - he wants the finish!


It looks like Charles RIck has been cut.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
OToole lands a nice shot that snaps RIck's head back.
RIck shoots and misses
and OToole counters with a one-two to the body.
OToole lands with a good body shot.
We've been told by OToole's head coaches at Elite Strikers that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
RIck takes a jab right on the kisser.

OToole gets a clinch.
OToole lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of RIck backwards.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
OToole lands with a right to the head.
OToole gets through RIck's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
OToole working some nice short punches in the clinch.


RIck is rocked!
OToole scores with a shoulder strike.
RIck is still on wobbly legs! Can OToole finish him?
OToole lands a left hand that snaps the head of RIck backwards.
OToole creates some distance for himself and unleashes a massive uppercut that sends RIck's eyes rolling into the back of his head! RIck drops to his knees and OToole pours it on with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Knuckles OToole!
Knuckles OToole decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
