Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between El Guappo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andy Hug (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, El Guappo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Andy Hug!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Nard Betker and Albert Achterberg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Guappo steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Hug. That one must have hurt.
Hug feints and then cracks Guappo's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Guappo down.
Hug throws a nice inside leg kick.
Hug tries to clinch but Guappo moves out of range.
A little feinted left hand from Guappo on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Hug fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Guappo.
Guappo looks for a takedown but Hug sprawls well.
Guappo tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Hug paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Guappo fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Hug is looking to slow Guappo down with leg kicks.
Hug cracks the inside of Guappo's front leg.
Guappo takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Guappo stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Hug.

Hug has Guappo up against the cage in a clinch.
Hug utilising his Muay Thai to score with a knee to the body.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Hug lands a left hand.

With the two fighters working up against the cage, Hug just misses with a elbow thrown towards Guappo's brow.
Hug lands a hook that snaps the head of Guappo backwards.

Hug's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Guappo has a takedown stuffed.

Hug connects with a solid leg kick.
Hug throws a leg kick which misses Guappo's front leg but catches the back leg as Guappo tries to avoid it.

Guappo was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Hug.

That kick from Hug tenderised Guappo's leg. Guappo is trying to keep his angry face on.

Andy Hug seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Guappo shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Hug pinned against the cage. Hug gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Hug turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.

Hug gets caught flat footed, as Guappo shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Hug wants to get back to his feet but Guappo passes into half guard.
Guappo wants to control but Hug is keeping him busy.

Still in half guard, Guappo seems content to control.

Guappo wants to work for an arm triangle but Hug is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Guappo is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Hug doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Guappo.

Hug pushes Guappo off looking to stand but Guappo dives back in and keeps control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Guappo is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Hug is trying to stand back up but Guappo is controlling him

Guappo is working for a submission of some sort.
Guappo stops Hug from getting back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Andy Hug dominated that round.
That's time! Guappo's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Hug doesn't manage to clinch there - Guappo circles away.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Guappo.
Despite the aggression on Hug's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Hug throws a nice outside leg kick.
Hug has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Hug scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Guappo on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Hug. Hug obviously looking to wear him down.
Hug closes the distance but Guappo moves to the side

so Guappo counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Guappo trying to control but Hug is working from the bottom.
Guappo stops Hug from standing up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Guappo advances to half guard.
Guappo stops Hug from getting back to his feet.

Hug is looking to get back to is feet but Guappo passes into side control.
Hug is trying to buck Guappo off.

Hug bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!
Hug with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Guappo is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.
Hug connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
A solid leg kick lands there for Hug.
Guappo shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Hug as he jumps to the side.
Hug turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Guappo has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Hug.
A head kick misses from Hug.
Hug lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.

A slapping leg kick lands for Hug.
Hug dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Guappo. That did some damage!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
A solid leg kick lands there for Hug.
Hug leaves Guappo with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for El Guappo. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Hug is looking to slow Guappo down with leg kicks.
Guappo has been working on his balance at Lights Out™ ($849 15 Elite Coaches!), so perhaps that has help him stuff some of the takedown attempts by Hug.
Guappo will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Hug fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Guappo.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Hug tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.
Hug has given up his back, trying to stand up. Not clever.

Guappo has his opponent's back and is working for the choke.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Hug is trying to get back to his feet but Guappo has full control of the position and if anything, Hug has just worked his way into a worse spot.

Guappo is working for a rear naked choke. Hug is not defending it well and Guappo has tightened it up quickly! This could be all over! Hug refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of Hug's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!
