Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Maicol Raul!
The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Daniel Cesar and Emerson Jorge.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Maicol Raul seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Raul pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Gomes back to the cage. Raul follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Raul has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Gomes is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
