Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Serge Carpenter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kobe Johnston (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Johnston is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: lil wayne: rasta musik. Serge Carpenter has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Serge Carpenter! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kobe Johnston! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Carpenter tries for a takedown but Johnston sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Johnston throws a head kick that misses. Johnston tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Johnston gets caught flat footed, as Carpenter shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Johnston is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Johnston can do anything to dispel that myth. Johnston is trying to control the position but Carpenter postures up. Carpenter controls from within his opponent's guard. Carpenter is looking to work some ground and pound but Johnston has wrist control. Carpenter trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Carpenter won't allow Johnston to get back to his feet. Carpenter with a flurry of punches that miss.
That's one minute gone in the round. Carpenter trying to control the position from guard on top but Johnston is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Johnston has eaten all the pies!
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Johnston shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Carpenter pinned against the cage. Carpenter gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Carpenter tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Johnston paws at him with a jab and circles away. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Carpenter avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Nice takedown defense from Carpenter. No joy for Johnston on that attempt. Carpenter looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Johnston closes the distance and clinches. Carpenter drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Carpenter postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Carpenter showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Carpenter has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Carpenter's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Johnston is looking to stand up but Carpenter isn't so interested in that idea. Johnston working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Carpenter. Johnston keeping full guard, as Carpenter tries to pass. Carpenter slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Kobe Johnston showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Carpenter keeps the fight on the outside. Carpenter closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Carpenter creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Johnston sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. Carpenter wants to lay and pray for a moment but Johnston keeps working. You can see the frustration on Johnston's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Carpenter controls the position from side control. Johnston can't do much from the bottom here. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Johnston tries to escape but Carpenter is in control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Carpenter working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter. Carpenter tries to advance to mount but can't.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. No luck for Carpenter with that takedown attempt. Kobe Johnston seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Carpenter. Johnston fails with a takedown attempt.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Johnston clinches up against the cage. Carpenter goes for a takedown attempt but Johnston pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
