PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Avila Alvarez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eric Cartmen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cartmen has chosen Eric Cartman - Come Sail Away as his entrance music. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Eric Cartmen was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Avila Alvarez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Eric Cartmen!
The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Johanna Lukiainen and Roosa Järviläinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alvarez throws a shot from downtown. Cartmen moves away and avoids it.
Cartmen fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Alvarez has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Cartmen slips a jab and a cross from Alvarez.
Alvarez tries to clinch but Cartmen moves out of range.
Cartmen showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Alvarez.
Cartmen swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Alvarez throws a shot from downtown. Cartmen moves away and avoids it.
Cartmen fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Alvarez manages to avoid it.
Alvarez rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Cartmen moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Alvarez fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Alvarez throws a shot from downtown. Cartmen moves away and avoids it.
Cartmen is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.
Cartmen swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Cartmen throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.

Alvarez closes the distance and pushes Cartmen back into the cage.
Alvarez throws a knee to the head but misses.
A battle for position here, against the cage.
Alvarez fails to land with a short punch on the inside.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Alvarez blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Alvarez just misses with a elbow thrown towards Cartmen's brow.
Alvarez pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.
Alvarez misses with a knee strike.
Alvarez goes for a body shot but it's blocked.

Alvarez escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Alvarez is looking to clinch.
Avila Alvarez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Alvarez is looking to clinch but Cartmen is avoiding it.
A head kick misses from Alvarez.
Cartmen pushes Alvarez away with a front kick.
Alvarez fails in his attempt to clinch.
Alvarez tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Cartmen throws a head kick that half lands.
Alvarez throws a looping overhand right but Cartmen ducks down to avoid it.
A punch combination from Alvarez misses.
Cartmen throws a fast counter high kick but Alvarez manages to duck under it in time.
Sloppy strikes from Alvarez. Those never looked like landing.
Cartmen has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Alvarez is landing a low percentage of strikes.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Alvarez crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Cartmen - the referee stops the clock and Alvarez gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Cartmen. Alvarez manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Alvarez is looking to clinch.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Alvarez moves forwards but Cartmen connects with a nice, crisp jab.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Cartmen moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Alvarez rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Cartmen counters with a nice kick to the body.
Alvarez is breathing heavily.
Alvarez throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Cartmen counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Cartmen.
Cartmen connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Alvarez takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Alvarez chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Cartmen can pounce on him.
Cartmen keeps the fight on the outside.
The fight stays on the outside here - Alvarez looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Alvarez misses with a right hand
and Cartmen counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Alvarez thinking.

Cartmen cracks Alvarez with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Alvarez looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Cartmen finish him?


Alvarez is rocked!
Cartmen circles away before darting back in with a big straight right hand. It connects beautifully and sends Alvarez tumbling to the canvas! He's out cold! Cartmen wins by KO!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:48 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Eric Cartmen!
A relieved looking Eric Cartmen thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
Avila Alvarez was interviewed post fight and said 'That's dude...that dude right there is a beast. Much respect.'.
