Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Karl Eddard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alex The (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Karl Eddard has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Karl Eddard seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Eddard stuns The with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Eddard tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but The was well out of range. Poor timing from Eddard.

The changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Eddard lands with a good body shot.
The takes one to the side of the head.
Eddard connects with a good right hand that stumbles The. The circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

The throws a fast counter high kick but Eddard manages to duck under it in time.
Nice uppercut there from Eddard.

The doesn't manage to clinch there - Eddard circles away.
Eddard misses with a double jab.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that The has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Eddard throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Eddard tries to sprawl but The drives through with a takedown into half guard.

The is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Eddard sees it coming and defends easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The is looking for a kimura but Eddard is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for The to get the leverage.

Eddard has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Eddard misses the jab.
Eddard lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
The keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Eddard thows a left - swing and a miss!
The tries to counter with a clinch but Eddard shakes him off and moves away.
The shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Eddard as he jumps to the side.
Eddard lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Eddard works the jab nicely.
The avoids a punch combination nicely.

Donk. Eddard catches The right on the button with a cross.

Eddard is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that The can do to turn this around?

You can see the frustration on Eddard's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Eddard gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.

The is trying to work for a kimura but Eddard is defending well.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Eddard moves into full guard.
Eddard pulls The in to control the position.

Eddard lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.


Eddard got a little sloppy there for a moment and The has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Eddard has managed to get both his arms back between The's legs - danger averted.

The isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Eddard stacks The on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Eddard!
Eddard is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down The's shoulder. That is not cool.
Eddard in side control lands a decent elbow.
Eddard tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
You can see the frustration on The's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Eddard is putting a hurting on The here, landing some big shots from side control.
Eddard lands an elbow.
The sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.

The looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
The on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
The wants to sweep but Eddard has passed to side control!
Eddard works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Eddard tries to move to mount but The blocks the move with his legs.

Oh, that's a big right hand from Eddard and The goes tumbling to the canvas! Eddard follows him to the ground and looks to finish from half guard.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Eddard is sitting in half guard. He's postured up and lands a nice elbow. Oh, The is hurt! He's hurt bad - Eddard fires away with more strikes and the referee jumps in to save The from any more punishment! Congratulations to Eddard! Great finish!
