Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jalmari Pullo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Corwin Anstey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
11 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jalmari Pullo! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
22 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Corwin Anstey! The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Dillan Fox and William Peck.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Anstey throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Pullo sees it coming and avoids it easily. Anstey works Pullo's body with a nice hook. Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Anstey.
Anstey thows a left - swing and a miss! Anstey pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Pullo uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Anstey. Pullo attempts a counter takedown but Anstey avoids it well and moves away. Corwin Anstey seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Anstey throws a right and a left that Pullo avoids nicely. Pullo appears to be looking for a counter takedown. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Pullo takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Pullo shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Anstey defends it nicely.
That's one minute gone in the round. Anstey throws a lazy body kick and Pullo counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Pullo sitting and controlling from the half guard. Anstey wants to get back to his feet.
Pullo slips a nice elbow through Anstey's hands, connecting with Anstey's forehead. Pullo takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Anstey is positioning himself well to prevent Pullo advancing to mount. Pullo thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Anstey's head. Pullo missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Pullo is thwarting Anstey's attempts to control the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Anstey looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Pullo winds up and cracks Anstey with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Anstey trying to control from the bottom.
Pullo wants to lay and pray for a moment but Anstey keeps working. Pullo prevents Anstey from standing back up.
Anstey wants to improve his position but Pullo is controlling well.

Pullo wants to pass to mount but Anstey is defending the position. Anstey looking for submissions off his back. Pullo wants to pass the guard but Anstey is defending well. Anstey trying to control here but he's found himself mounted! Oh no!

That's four minutes gone in the round. Anstey manages to regain half guard. Good work. Anstey taking some punishment here, with Pullo in his half guard. Pullo winds up and cracks Anstey with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Nice strikes from Pullo there. Anstey moves into full guard.
Anstey wants to sweep but no luck. Pullo slips nicely into half guard. Pullo prevents Anstey from improving his position. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Pullo moves nicely into side control. Pullo tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jalmari Pullo dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Anstey wants to control from the top but Pullo keeps moving. Anstey lands a couple of digs. Anstey is working Pullo over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Anstey controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Anstey throws a big right hand that misses. Pullo looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Anstey passes into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Anstey seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Pullo wants to sweep but Anstey has passed to side control! Pullo managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Anstey.
Pullo is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Anstey off and has taken his back! Anstey can't escape the position.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Anstey is taking damage to the body and head. Anstey manages to reverse the position and now he's in Pullo's guard. Nice work there by Anstey.
Anstey works over Pullo with some ground and pound from guard. Anstey postures up and lands a big shot to Pullo's brow. Anstey won't allow Pullo to sweep him here. Anstey makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Anstey distracts Pullo with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Anstey lands a couple of decent looking shots. Pullo throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Anstey escapes and throws Pullo's legs to the side, diving into side control! Anstey cracks Pullo with a big elbow.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Anstey in side control lands a decent elbow. Anstey throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage. Pullo tries to buck Anstey off but Anstey is having none of it. Anstey scores with a couple of short elbows. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Anstey working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Pullo is rocked! Check out the look on Anstey's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
Oh Pullo is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Anstey in side control here. He's dropped a big elbow there and Pullo looks hurt! Oh, he is hurt! Anstey turns on the heat and pounds him out for a TKO victory! Good killer instinct there!
