The judges for this bout are William Peck, Elvis Blanc and Yves DeLean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Poli shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Dere pinned against the cage. Dere gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Poli has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Poli drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Dere is looking to stand up but Poli isn't so interested in that idea.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Poli is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Poli passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Dere struggling a bit here.

Dere really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Poli. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Poli is working close to his opponent, looking to work a submission by the looks of things. Oh, he's managed to get a guillotine from mount as his opponent reached up! That looks tiiiiight! Will he tap? YES, he's tapped! Impressive submission by Poli!
