Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
7 - 5 - 3, fighting out of Helsinki, Pakile Pike!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Citlali Vosgi!
The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Patrick Alders and Wagner Zegers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pike paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Vosgi throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Pike throwing a counter right hand but Vosgi manages to avoid it.
Vosgi misses with a double jab.
Pike thinks about countering with a head kick.
Vosgi has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Pike lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Pike takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Pike throws a head kick that half lands.
Pike looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Pike looking to score a takedown here. Vosgi is defending well but Pike drives through and ends up in Vosgi's guard.
Pike seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Vosgi wants to stand and escape but Pike is having none of it.
Pike is looking to work some ground and pound but Vosgi has wrist control.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Pike wants to pass the guard but Vosgi is keeping the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Pike trying to move into half guard but instead Vosgi has managed to sweep!
Pike has his hands on Vosgi's head, controlling the position.
Pike is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Vosgi defends well.
Pike has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Vosgi doesn't defend quickly enough and Pike has managed to lock this one up! Can Vosgi escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Pike on a fantastic submission victory.
