The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ryan has a takedown stuffed. Ryan swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Is that better or worse? Hard to tell! Reyes wants to control the pace but Ryan is squirming around nicely. Reyes is going olschool here, as he tries to force Ryan to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Ryan shrugs it off.

Reyes is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully. Reyes can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Ryan controls the pace. Jake Ryan is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Ryan has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Reyes throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
