Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Elijah Zheng (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jose Maia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jose Maia has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Elijah Zheng's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zheng showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Maia.
Maia has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Zheng finds it's way round the side to connect with Maia's head.

Maia loads up on a big right hand but Zheng slips the punch.
Maia looks to land a right hand but Zheng moved out of range.
Maia scores with a punch to the head.
Zheng throws a series of strikes that have Maia backpedaling.
Zheng throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Maia stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Zheng lands a left and a right that send Maia crashing to the mat, dazed. Zheng thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Maia fails to land with a series of punches.
A punch combination from Zheng misses.
Zheng lands an overhand right.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Maia is defended easily by Zheng.

Zheng throws a right and a left that both miss.

and Maia counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Maia passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Zheng is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Maia is controlling him well.
Maia looks up at the clock and then as Zheng takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Maia smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Zheng tries to escape but Maia is in control.

Maia has an Americana. Zheng didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Maia is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Maia hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
