Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ruffus Switch (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Stephen Masterson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Ruffus Switch!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Stephen Masterson!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Sam Margolis and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Switch shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Masterson pinned against the cage. Masterson gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Masterson gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Switch tries to pull guard but Masterson holds him up against the cage and eventually Switch drops back down to his feet.
Masterson prevents a takedown attempt there.

Switch has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Masterson regains guard immediately.

Masterson pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

Masterson cracks Switch with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Switch tries to reverse the position but Masterson maintains control.
The referee warns Switch that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Switch is pressing down on Masterson's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Switch has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Masterson can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Masterson must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Switch working for a triangle but Masterson defends it easily.

Switch working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Masterson doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Masterson manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Switch looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Switch is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Switch had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Masterson is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Switch Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Masterson's back instead.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Stephen Masterson will probably get the nod.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Switch changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Masterson looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Switch swings around for an armbar but Masterson sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Switch's guard.

Switch is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Switch is trying to maintain the position but Masterson is very close to passing his half guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Switch looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Switch is trying to control but can't.
Switch is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Masterson wants to clinch up but Switch keeps it at a distance.
Switch has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Switch there as he acknowledges the shot.

Switch decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Masterson tries to kick Switch off but Switch keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Switch is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Masterson has managed to free his arm - good work.
Switch is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard.

Masterson pushes Switch off and gets back to his feet.

Switch tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Masterson swivels and escapes.

Masterson is looking to clinch but Switch is avoiding it.
Switch shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Masterson but Masterson pushes him off and we're back to square one.

That was a close second round but I would say that Ruffus Switch will probably get the nod.

That's time! Switch's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!


Switch shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Masterson as he avoids it easily.
Masterson is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Switch seems to be going for a rear naked choke. He has an arm under Masterson's chin but Masterson turns very nicely into Switch's guard. Good BJJ skills being displayed there by Masterson.
Switch manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Masterson manages to get himself to full guard.

Switch is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Masterson's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Masterson's back!

Switch is cranking Masterson's head sideways - that looks painful. He's managed to get his other arm under the chin and this looks bad for Masterson! He's tightened the choke and Masterson is tapping out!
