The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Santana looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Pereira is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Santana's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Santana's back!

The referee asks Pereira politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Pereira prefers to stall for the moment though.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Santana parries the strikes from Pereira easily there. Pereira is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Santana to escape.

Well Pereira has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
