PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jack Judo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Predator Burns (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Burns has chosen Jiu-Jitsu as his entrance music. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 37 - 13 - 1, fighting out of New York, Jack Judo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Predator Burns!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Yves DeLean and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Burns.
Burns scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Burns goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Judo ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Burns moves away.
Burns moves out of range of the strikes.
Judo swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Burns misses with a hook
and Judo counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Burns thinking.
Burns with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Judo waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Burns.
Judo takes one to the side of the head.
Burns looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Judo is fending him off so far but Burns persists. Nope, Judo circles away and we're back to standing.
Judo displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Burns throws out the jab.
Burns jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Burns with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Judo to score with a decent uppercut.
Judo throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Burns uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Judo.
Judo missing with a left hand there. Burns was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

Burns throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
Burns misses with a kick to the body.
Judo changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Judo ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Burns moves away.
Burns looks to score with a jab to the body but Judo is just out of range.
Judo circles away from the clinch attempt
and Judo counters with a stiff right hand.
Burns uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Judo.

Burns shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Judo looking for submissions off his back.
Judo is refusing to be controlled, as Burns sits in half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Judo taking some punishment here, with Burns in his half guard.
Burns prevents Judo from improving his position.
Burns sitting and controlling from the half guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Burns working Judo over with strikes.
Burns seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Judo does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Burns is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Judo is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Burns pulls his head out easily.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Burns in particular looking to stall.
Burns passes to side control.
Burns has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Burns happy to just control the position for now.
Judo manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.

Judo actively working from the bottom here.
Burns slips a nice elbow through Judo's hands, connecting with Judo's forehead.
Burns is trying to control. Judo wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Burns is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

Judo looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.

Burns seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Judo does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Judo moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Judo wants to sweep here but Burns controlling him for the moment.
Burns trying to control but Judo is working from the bottom.
Burns slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Burns working some strikes from top position.
Burns trying to control the position from guard on top but Judo is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Judo working for submissions but it's allowed Burns to get to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Predator Burns dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Burns has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
Burns gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Judo counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Burns throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Burns waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Judo.
A jab from Burns misses.
Burns ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Judo moves away.
A slow jab from Judo misses its intended target.
Burns lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Burns uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Judo.

Judo scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Burns wants to get back to full guard.
Burns is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Judo is figuring out what he wants to do next.

Judo slips a nice elbow through Burns's hands, connecting with Burns's forehead.
Judo wants to control but Burns is keeping him busy.
Burns is trying to get back to full guard.
Judo is pressing down on Burns's thigh, looking to free his foot. Burns is holding on for now.
Predator Burns has got the better of the ground game so far.

Judo seems to be working for a kimura but Burns defends the submission attempt.
Burns gets back to full guard.

Burns is looking to cinch up a triangle. Judo throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Burns's body to avoid the submission. Burns has instead reached around Judo's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Burns arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:58 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Predator Burns!
Predator Burns looked relieved post fight as he said the following; 'Thanks guys, I have worked hard and the Burns team got me back on track. I regret not starting my career with Bradley Burns and my family but now I'm home.'.
The defeated Jack Judo had this to say: 'Can I get a Shucky Ducky Quack Quack?'.
