Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mookie Blaylock (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Daniel Campos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Blaylock comes to the cage accompanied by Alive. Campos is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Doom and Gloom by The Rolling Stones. 28 - 11 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mookie Blaylock! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
23 - 10 - 1, fighting out of New York, Daniel Campos! The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Yves DeLean and Robert Douchet.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Campos scores with a punch to the head. Blaylock has been working on his boxing with his coaches at The Beast in the buildup to the fight. Blaylock takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Blaylock thuds his right hand into Campos's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
It looks like Daniel Campos has been cut. Blaylock pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Blaylock lands a head kick!

Campos comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Campos has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Blaylock throws a low kick but Campos moves out of range easily. Campos walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Blaylock throws a low kick, looking for Campos's leg but Campos calmly moves out of range. Daniel Campos seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Campos misses with the combination.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Nice shot lands for Campos. Campos avoids a low kick by using good footwork. Blaylock throws a jab but it's blocked by Campos. Blaylock throws a half hearted mid kick. Campos tries to clinch letting Blaylock counter with a right hand.
That's one minute gone in the round. Blaylock throws a right hand that Campos ducks under and follows up with a left that Campos also avoids with ease. Campos staying out of range there. Campos lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. Good shot there by Blaylock. Campos getting the better of the striking in that exchange. Sloppy strikes from Campos. Those never looked like landing. A little feinted left hand from Blaylock on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Campos scores with a jab to the head.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Blaylock looks to land a right hand but Campos moved out of range. Campos misses with a hook. Campos misses the shot to the body. Campos forces Blaylock back against the cage and clinches. Campos dodges an elbow strike from Blaylock.

Blaylock lands a glancing elbow in the clinch. Campos has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Campos is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Blaylock can't fight it off and eventually Campos manages to take the fight to the floor. Blaylock looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. Campos is in close to Blaylock's body, working some short punches and elbows. Campos working some strikes from top position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Campos throwing strikes but missing. Campos working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Blaylock is on top in guard.
Campos utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Campos wants to stand but Blaylock is controlling the position. Blaylock's corner is telling him to maintain position. Blaylock is looking to work some ground and pound but Campos has wrist control. Blaylock might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Blaylock prevents Campos from getting back to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Blaylock is stalling in the full guard. Campos has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Campos wants to stand and escape but Blaylock is having none of it. Blaylock trying to control the position from guard on top but Campos is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Blaylock is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Campos. Blaylock throws a leg kick that is checked and Campos counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Campos staying out of range there. The fight moves into the clinch position. Blaylock gets through Campos's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Mookie Blaylock will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Daniel Campos's cut. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

Blaylock pushes off an throws an elbow but Campos leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Campos manages to break the clinch.
Campos throws out a loose jab but Blaylock uses good head movement to avoid it. The fight stays on the outside here - Blaylock looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Campos misses with a wild body shot. Blaylock wants to land a leg kick but Campos is out of range. Campos is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Campos jabbing away but nothing is landing. Blaylock throwing a counter right hand but Campos manages to avoid it. Campos moves away from the strike by Blaylock. Campos swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. Campos throws a hook but Blaylock avoids it easily. It looked like Blaylock was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Campos. Campos rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Blaylock counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Blaylock takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Campos has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight. Blaylock throws a push kick but Campos slaps the foot to one side. Campos doesn't manage to clinch there - Blaylock circles away.

Blaylock throws a hook but Campos blocks it. Campos lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Campos is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range. Blaylock throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Campos avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Campos fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Campos tries to clinch but fails miserably and Blaylock connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Campos uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Blaylock has time to react. A big right from Blaylock misses. Campos misses with a looping left. Blaylock was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. Blaylock lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Campos circles away quickly and effectively. Campos lands a nice leg kick that just misses Blaylock's sensitive parts. Campos throws out a loose jab but Blaylock uses good head movement to avoid it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Blaylock misses with a low kick. Campos lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
This has been an exciting period of action! Blaylock looks to throw a body kick and Campos counters with a nice uppercut. Campos moves out of range of the strikes. Campos takes a swing at Blaylock's ribcage but misses. Blaylock scores with a nice right hand.
That has opened up Daniel Campos's cut even more. Campos ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Campos throws a jab when Blaylock was well out of range. Campos takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Campos missing with a left hand there. Blaylock was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Campos bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Blaylock's head. Campos checks a leg kick nicely. Some bone on bone action there as Blaylock checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one. Campos lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.

Blaylock connects with a nice cross there... Campos is looking wobbly and Blaylock recognises it - he's rushed in and lands two more brutal shots that send Campos to the canvas, out cold! A brutal finish to the fight - Blaylock jumps onto the cage to celebrate with the crowd!

A very excited looking Mookie Blaylock made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
