Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Kim Soto! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Fah Queue! The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Dillan Fox and Gregory Folan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Queue with a nice cross. Queue falls off balance throwing a combination
and Soto counters with a lovely shot to the body. A left and a right from Queue both land. Nice combination. Fah Queue seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Soto throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Queue's head. Queue misses with a hook
and Soto counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Soto. Soto landing some decent shots from guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Queue is looking to stand up but Soto isn't so interested in that idea. Soto throwing strikes from guard but Queue blocks nicely.
That's one minute gone in the round. Soto loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Queue wants to stand up but Soto is controlling him. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Queue has momentary wrist control but Soto slips an elbow through the middle. Soto throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Queue works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Soto scoring with some ground and pound. Queue pushes Soto off and scrambles back to his feet.
Fah Queue is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Soto's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Queue connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Soto scrambles back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Queue swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Soto counters with a one-two to the body. Soto throws a right and a left that both miss. Soto moves into range and clinches up with Queue. Queue wants to get back to striking at distance but Soto won't allow it.
Queue is trying to break the clinch but Soto is controlling him. Queue lands with a short head shot on the inside. Soto could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Queue misses with a hook from the clinch. Soto breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Soto misses with a few strikes there.
Queue throws a right and a left that both miss. Queue's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Queue duly obliges. Queue fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Queue lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Soto is rocked! Queue throws an overhand right that has Soto reeling! Queue follows up with more punches and Soto is out cold! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:11 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Fah Queue!
