Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Sean Cox (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jay Bilger (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cox comes into the arena with You Gotta Die For Your Government blaring out of the sound system. Bilger has chosen its all fun and games as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cox tries to clinch there but Bilger circles away.
Nice sprawl there from Bilger as Cox shoots in. Cox fails with the takedown. Cox shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Cox showed some decent athleticism there. Bilger is looking to control Cox's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Bilger avoid being mounted? Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Cox winds up and cracks Bilger with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Bilger trying to control here.

Bilger tries for a takedown but Cox circles away easily and Cox holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Bilger tries for a takedown but Cox manages to get underhooks.
Bilger has had enough of the clinch but Cox keeps him there for the moment. Cox lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Bilger drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Cox gets the underhooks and prevents it.

That's one minute gone in the round. Cox bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Bilger's guard. Bilger is looking to stand up but Cox isn't so interested in that idea. Cox is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Cox is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Cox wants to pass the guard but Bilger is keeping the position. Bilger trying to control the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Bilger has hold of Cox's hands but Cox slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Cox wants to pass to mount but Bilger is defending the position. Bilger has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Cox is working away from the top position though. Bilger avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Cox. Cox thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Cox not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Cox misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Bilger tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Cox paws at him with a jab and circles away.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cox tries to clinch but Bilger moves out of range. Bilger darts in trying to clinch and Cox counters with a nice double leg into guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Cox passes easily into side control. Nice work. Bilger avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Cox. Bilger can't do much from the bottom here. Cox goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Bilger has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Cox but great work by Bilger. Cox manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Cox moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Cox manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Bilger is really trying hard to get back to his feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Cox lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Bilger is trying desperately to improve position. Cox goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Bilger turns into him and now he's in Cox's guard.
Bilger trying to control but Cox is working from the bottom. Sean Cox overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Bilger is looking to stand up but Cox won't let him. Cox working for a triangle but Bilger defends it easily.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Bilger missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Bilger gets to his feet. Cox looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. Cox shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Bilger bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! Bilger wants to get up but he can't break Cox's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Cox wants to sweep here but Bilger controlling him for the moment. Bilger decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Cox, up you get! No luck for Cox with that takedown attempt.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Bilger wants to clinch and Cox counters with a single leg into guard. Bilger didn't expect that. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Bilger is trying to keep Cox in close.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
And that's the end of the fight! Sean Cox showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Cox, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
