Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Rob Mills (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tim Hawk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hawk has chosen This Fire Burns as his entrance music. Tim Hawk will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Rob Mills!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tim Hawk!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Franklyn Lucas and Reed Andrews.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The crowd cheers as Hawk lands an impressive looking overhand right. Mills doesn't seem phased though.
Mills gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Hawk.
Tim Hawk seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hawk blocks a head kick by Mills.
A jab from Hawk misses.
Hawk keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Mills keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Hawk.
Hawk scores with a nice head shot.
Mills tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Hawk defends well and Mills ends up having to push Hawk into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Hawk lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Mills shoots for a double leg takedown but Hawk sprawls well. He's pushed Mills's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
A little jabbing left from Hawk on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Mills displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Hawk throws out the jab.
Mills wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
Mills swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Mills shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Hawk pinned against the cage. Hawk gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rob Mills. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Decent striking displayed by Hawk there.

Mills tries to clinch but Hawk is having none of it.
Hawk fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Mills on the side of the head.

Hawk cracks Mills with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Hawk has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Mills to stand back up!


Mills is rocked!
Mills lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Oh Mills is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Hawk thows a left - swing and a miss!
Hawk rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Mills moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Mills seems to have got his legs back now.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Hawk stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Mills wants to clinch but Hawk slips to the side
and Hawk counters with a nice uppercut.
Mills uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Hawk.
Mills doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Hawk counters with a straight right hand.
Hawk misses with a looping left.
Mills takes a jab right on the kisser.
Hawk is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Mills.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The fighters circling - Hawk throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Hawk swats away the attempt to clinch by Mills.
Mills closes the distance looking to clinch
and Hawk counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Hawk throws a hook to the side of Mills's head but Mills sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Hawk displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Mills.
Hawk has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Mills misses with a body kick.

Hawk lands a left and a right that send Mills crashing to the mat, dazed. Hawk thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Mills avoids a punch combination nicely.
Hawk is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Mills had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.

Hawk feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Mills sprawling to the canvas! Mills rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Hawk finish him?!

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Mills shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Mills was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Hawk is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Mills asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Mills passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Hawk!
Hawk is trying to stand.
Hawk is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

Mills looking for a guillotine from mount but Hawk is having none of it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hawk is trying to stand up.
Mills trying to control but he's not successful this time.
The referee warns Hawk that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Hawk wants to try and get back to his feet.
Mills postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Hawk looks a forlorn figure.
Hawk wants to get back to his feet.
Hawk really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Mills. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Mills cracks Hawk with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Mills tries to control but Hawk wriggling away.
Hawk is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
Mills has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Mills scores with a couple of good head shots there.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Mills trying to control but Hawk is having none of it.
We've been informed that Hawk has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.

Hawk bucks Mills off and manages to get back to his feet!
Hawk is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
Hawk throws out a powerful jab.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tim Hawk dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!


Mills takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Mills throws a left and a right that both miss
and Hawk connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Mills closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Hawk to the mat! Hawk manages to get full guard.
Mills is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hawk wants to stand and escape but Mills is having none of it.

Hawk uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Hawk has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Rob Mills overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Hawk wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Mills manages to pass to side control.

Hawk has one foot on Mills's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
Hawk connects with a looping right hand.

Hawk gets caught napping as Mills dives in and scores a takedown. Hawk manages to retain guard.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Hawk manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Hawk swings wildly with an uppercut but Mills uses good head movement to avoid it.
Mills blocks an uppercut.
Mills goes for a takedown in the clinch but Hawk prevents it.
Hawk misses with a hook from the clinch.
Mills is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Hawk is defending well.

Hawk has a couple of punches blocked by Mills.
Mills fails to pull guard.
Mills fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
A short uppercut from Hawk.
Hawk cracks Mills with a nice body shot.
Hawk swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Mills looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.
Hawk lands an uppercut.
Mills jumps guard but Hawk turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Hawk misses with a hook from the clinch.
A head punch on the inside from Hawk fails to land.
Mills is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.

Hawk lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Mills jumps guard but Hawk stands there with Mills around his waist. Mills gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Mills tries for a takedown but Hawk manages to get underhooks.
A left hand lands to the body for Hawk.
Hawk scores with a shot to the side of Mills's head.
Hawk scores with a shot to the side of Mills's head.
Hawk lands with a right to the head.
Mills blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Hawk lands a nice uppercut.
Hawk lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Mills blocks an uppercut.

Mills breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Rob Mills is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Hawk lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Mills tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Hawk counters with a nice right hand that sends Mills toppling to the canvas! Mills scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Hawk finish him?!
Hawk throws out a loose jab but Mills uses good head movement to avoid it.
Mills dives in for a single leg takedown but Hawk sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Hawk lands an uppercut out of nowhere! Mills falls backwards - clearly groggy! Hawk dives in and finishes the fight with more strikes for a TKO finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:31 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Tim Hawk!
An out of breath and clearly excited Tim Hawk thanked Sun-Tzu for their help and support (and free stuff they sent him).
