Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Sultan Aliev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michael Cole (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Aliev comes to the cage accompanied by Michael Jackson - Smooth Criminal. Cole comes into a darkened arena with his song building. I Won't Back Down kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sultan Aliev! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Michael Cole! The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Gwen Towbar and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Aliev misses with the combination.
Cole uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Aliev lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Cole circles away quickly and effectively. Cole uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Aliev. Cole displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Aliev. We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Cole has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. Cole stuns Aliev with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Aliev shoots for a double leg takedown but Cole sprawls well. He's pushed Aliev's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Aliev misses with a head kick.
Aliev moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Aliev has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Cole misses the shot to the body. Nice straight punches there by Cole. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Cole. Cole lands a jab to the nose.
That's one minute gone in the round. A jab from Aliev misses. Aliev dives in for a single leg takedown but Cole sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sultan Aliev. That's going to take a lot out of him. Cole tries to close the distance and clinch up but Aliev swats him away and circles back towards the center. Aliev gets the takedown into side control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Aliev scoring with punches and elbows. Aliev misses with an attempted head punch from side control. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Cole can do anything to dispel that myth. Aliev trying to control the action but Cole is working from the bottom. Cole is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Aliev wants to pass the guard but Cole is defending well. Aliev not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Aliev wants to free his trapped foot but Cole is holding on for dear life with his legs. Cole controlling the position for now.

Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground! Aliev is looking to take a break and control but Cole is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Cole manages to get to full guard.
Aliev trying to control the position from guard on top but Cole is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Cole lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Aliev is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Cole pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Aliev is keeping the position for now. Cole is pushing down on Aliev's leg trying to pass to half guard. Aliev is fighting to maintain full guard but Cole has managed to sneak the leg through.

Cole throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Aliev to regain full guard. Aliev wants to hit a switch here but Cole passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Aliev there! Cole thowing shots but they're missing. Cole thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Cole controlling the pace for now. Cole's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. More stalling from Cole. Cole sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it! Cole misses with a head shot. Aliev wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Cole.
Aliev is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

Michael Cole dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Aliev fails with a takedown attempt. Aliev throws a jab but it's blocked by Cole. A combination from Cole does no damage. Cole scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Aliev doesn't seem bothered though. Aliev waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Cole. Cole digs a good body shot into Aliev's ribs. Aliev lands a jab to the head.

Sultan Aliev seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Cole walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Aliev checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Cole misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Cole looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Cole tries to get back to half guard but can't.

He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Aliev missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Cole desperately trying to maintain half guard. Aliev wants to take a breather but Cole is having none of it. Aliev lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Cole desperately trying to maintain half guard. That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Aliev keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Cole's head. Aliev working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Aliev is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Cole controlling Aliev's posture. Cole is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. That was a close second round but I would say that Sultan Aliev will probably get the nod. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!
Aliev throws out a powerful jab. Cole stuns Aliev with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Aliev goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Cole scores with a punch to the head. Aliev pushing out the jab but it's not landing. A looping hook to the body misses from Cole. Aliev does a little dance to reset his feet. Cole is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Aliev rather than just go for the knockout. Aliev fails with a takedown attempt. Sultan Aliev is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Aliev fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Cole manages to avoid it. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Aliev. Cole feints a counter leg kick. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sultan Aliev. That's going to take a lot out of him. Cole defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Aliev. Cole slips a straight right by Aliev. Aliev lands with a right hand. Cole moves into the clinch. Cole lands an uppercut. Good body shot from Cole.
Both fighters are breathing heavily. Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Cole. Cole gets through Aliev's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. A short uppercut from Cole. Cole misses with a shot to the kidneys.

Aliev is rocked! Cole lands an uppercut in the clinch that drops Aliev to his knees! Cole keeps firing more shots against his stricken opponent and the referee jumps in to save him!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:23 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Michael Cole! Michael Cole spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
