Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hugh Mungus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marcus Akimbo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Hugh Mungus! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Marcus Akimbo! The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Anthony Taglia and Dean Styles.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mungus gets caught flat footed, as Akimbo shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Akimbo postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Mungus is trying to hold Akimbo in close to prevent damage but Akimbo has managed to pass into half guard.
Mungus avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Akimbo. Mungus keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount. Mungus trying to control but Akimbo postures up.
Akimbo thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Akimbo wants to take a breather but Mungus is having none of it. Mungus keeping control of the position. Mungus slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Akimbo working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Mungus preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Mungus is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Akimbo's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Akimbo stopping the sweep attempt from Mungus. Mungus had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Akimbo is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Mungus Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Akimbo's back instead. Mungus scores with punches to the body.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Mungus gets his hands free as Akimbo looks to control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Mungus tries to get the hooks in deep but Akimbo pushed the leg off. Akimbo tries to escape the position.
Akimbo trying to control but not successfully. Mungus wants to control but Akimbo is keeping busy.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mungus is striking from the back but Akimbo escapes and manages to recover to half guard.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Akimbo has a takedown stuffed. Akimbo throws a looping overhand right but Mungus ducks down to avoid it. Mungus keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Akimbo looks gassed! Mungus misses with a takedown attempt and Akimbo counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Mungus! Mungus really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Mungus could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Mungus wants to hold on but Akimbo pushes him away. Akimbo putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound!
That's four minutes gone in the round. You get the feeling that Mungus really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Akimbo content just to control the position here. Mungus wants to control but Akimbo is having none of it. Akimbo working Mungus over with strikes here. Akimbo with the ground and pound from mount. Akimbo lands with some strikes. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Marcus Akimbo dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Akimbo breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Mungus scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Mungus connects with a nice short shot to Akimbo's temple. Akimbo is trying to maintain the position but Mungus is very close to passing his half guard. Mungus looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Akimbo tries to roll over but Mungus keeps him under control. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Mungus is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Akimbo regains full guard. Nicely done.
That's one minute gone in the round. Akimbo is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Mungus stands up from Akimbo's guard - Mungus perhaps looking for a knockout. Akimbo closes the distance and clinches. Mungus has had enough of the clinch but Akimbo keeps him there for the moment. Mungus can't break the clinch.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors. Akimbo manages to break the clinch.
Akimbo misses with a takedown attempt and Mungus counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Akimbo's guard now. Mungus advances position into side control! Akimbo is trying to get back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Akimbo is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Mungus off and has taken his back! Akimbo lands a shot to the body. Mungus trying to control the hands but Akimbo won't let him. Akimbo trying to control. Akimbo is trying to stick to Mungus's back but Mungus is turning into Akimbo. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Akimbo's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Mungus. Akimbo is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Mungus trying to control the position from guard on top but Akimbo is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Akimbo is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Mungus staying out of range there. Mungus throws a quick inside leg kick. Akimbo clinches but Mungus breaks the clinch and Mungus counters with a takedown into side control. Hugh Mungus overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mungus working away. Akimbo manages to work his way to half guard, despite Mungus's best efforts. Akimbo is trying to stand up here but Mungus is controlling him well. Mungus missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Mungus trying to control the action but Akimbo is working from the bottom. Mungus wants to pass the guard but Akimbo is defending well. Mungus thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Akimbo is staying active underneath Mungus, who seems content to just control the action from this position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Hugh Mungus dominated that second round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

Mungus avoids the attempt from Akimbo to control. Akimbo is in a horrible position here. Mungus smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Mungus takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Mungus goes for an armbar but Akimbo turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Akimbo. Mungus wants to get back to his feet but Akimbo is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Akimbo postures up in Mungus's guard and throws a big left but Mungus blocks it. Akimbo trying to control but Mungus is working from the bottom. Akimbo won't allow Mungus to sweep him here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Akimbo is in close to Mungus's body, working some short punches and elbows. Akimbo works over Mungus with some ground and pound from guard. Akimbo trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Mungus has a closed guard, preventing Akimbo from standing up.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Akimbo fails with the takedown and Mungus counters with an outside leg kick.
Marcus Akimbo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Akimbo tries to clinch up. Mungus throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Akimbo's waist but Akimbo gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Mungus off to one side. Akimbo with a lazy takedown attempt and Mungus counters with a series of strikes. Akimbo will be more careful next time no doubt. Hugh Mungus has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Marcus Akimbo. Akimbo has a takedown stuffed. Akimbo connects with a good right hand that stumbles Mungus. Mungus circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Akimbo shoots in for a double leg but Mungus sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. A punch combination from Mungus misses. Mungus throws a sloppy head kick and Akimbo moves out of range easily. Akimbo closes the distance but Mungus moves to the side and Mungus counters with a nice double leg into side control. Akimbo won't be happy with that. Mungus tries for a kimura but Akimbo is defending well. Akimbo is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Mungus decides to take the fight back to the feet.
And that's the end of the fight! Hugh Mungus showed his dominance in that final round. I think Mungus has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
