Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mike Paddy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Pott (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Paddy comes to the cage accompanied by The Battering Ram - Come Out & Fight. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Mike Paddy! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Jack Pott! The judges for this bout are William Gold, Daniel Bishop and Steven Brown.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Paddy throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Pott ducks under a wild hook from Paddy. Paddy throws a hook but Pott blocks it. Pott gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. I was talking to Paddy's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight. Pott throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Pott prevents Paddy from breaking the clinch. Pott blocks an uppercut.
Paddy throws a punch but it's blocked by Pott. With the fighters up against the cage, Pott throws an elbow but misses. Paddy blocks an elbow strike. Paddy tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. Paddy tries a body shot but Pott blocks it.
Pott pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Pott throws an elbow that misses.
Paddy escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

It looks like Jack Pott has been cut. Pott wants to slow Paddy down by chopping away at his legs. Mike Paddy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Pott forces Paddy back against the cage and clinches. Paddy avoids the elbow strike from Pott, against the cage.

That's one minute gone in the round. Pott blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Paddy has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. With the fighters up against the cage, Pott throws an elbow but misses. Pott drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Paddy gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Pott turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control! We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Pott working the head with strikes. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Pott throwing strikes but missing, from side control. Pott in side control, throwing shots but Paddy defends. Pott in side control, throwing shots but Paddy defends. Paddy struggling a bit here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Pott tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. Pott in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows. Paddy is working to avoid the ground and pound but Pott connects with a decent elbow. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Pott scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Paddy to see if he's OK. Paddy is looking for a sweep. Pott looks up at the clock and then as Paddy takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Pott smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Paddy tries to buck Pott off but Pott is having none of it. Paddy parries the strikes from Pott easily there. Pott is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Paddy to escape.
Paddy manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Pott is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Paddy wants to control but Pott is keeping busy.
Pott throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Pott working over Paddy with some ground and pound. Paddy looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Paddy keeping control of the position. Paddy blocking the ground and pound attempt from Pott. Pott missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Pott passes the guard and advances to mount! Pott scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Paddy?
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jack Pott dominated that round. The cut man is working on Jack Pott's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Pott shoots in looking for a takedown. Paddy tries to sprawl out of it but Pott keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Paddy manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Pott uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Paddy. Pott wants to clinch up but Paddy keeps it at a distance. Paddy misses with a looping right. Paddy misses the shot to the body. Pott slips a straight right by Paddy. Pott drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Paddy defends it well. Pott takes the fight into the clinch. A short right from Paddy on the inside. A short right from Paddy on the inside. Paddy misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Pott's coach down at Gonzasco Hydropathy was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Pott's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. Paddy working hard to break the clinch. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Paddy can't find room to land a body shot as Pott controls the action.

Pott has been the more effective fighter overall so far. A head punch blocked on the inside by Pott.

Mike Paddy has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jack Pott. Paddy is fighting off a takedown attempt but Pott is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Paddy to the mat. Paddy regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat. Paddy is controlling Pott's posture. Paddy is trying to control the position but Pott postures up. Pott throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Paddy works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Paddy will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Paddy looking for a sweep. Not yet Paddy, not yet. Pott working some strikes from top position. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Paddy tries to land a sweep but no joy.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Pott finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Paddy fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Pott is looking to chop away at Paddy's legs. A leg kick checked by Paddy. Pott closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. A combination from Paddy does no damage. Paddy scores with a punch to the head. Pott darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Pott is looking to pass Paddy's guard but actually Paddy recovers to full guard. Jack Pott has got the better of the ground game so far.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Paddy not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Pott postures up and lands a big shot to Paddy's brow. Pott with a flurry of punches that miss. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Pott tries to clinch but Paddy is having none of it. Pott fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Pott has closed the distance and engaged Paddy in a clinch.
Pott tightens his grip and picks Paddy up, before dumping him to the ground. Paddy manages to land in guard. Pott in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Paddy keeping full guard, as Pott tries to pass. Pott has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Pott with a nice head shot there. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Pott working some strikes from top position. Pott throwing strikes from guard but Paddy blocks nicely. Paddy trying to control the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pott lands a couple of decent looking shots. Paddy looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Paddy preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Pott chips away with some ground and pound. Paddy wants to sweep but no luck. Pott looking to pass the guard. Pott landing with the ground and pound.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Paddy checks a leg kick. Paddy gets caught flat footed, as Pott shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Paddy working a defensive guard here.
Pott postures up and lands a big shot to Paddy's brow. Paddy wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Paddy looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Pott postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Pott is looking to work some ground and pound but Paddy has wrist control. Pott looking to sit in guard and control but Paddy gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Paddy stopping the sweep attempt from Pott. Pott keeping moving, preventing Paddy from controlling successfully. Pott tries to land a sweep but no joy.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Pott throws his legs up looking for a submission but Paddy uses it to pass to side control.
Paddy wants to lay and pray for a moment but Pott keeps working. Pott is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Jack Pott comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Pott has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
