Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Lanny Gardner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Py Stub (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Lanny Gardner! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Py Stub! The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Ian Loll and Alec Ball.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Stub throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Gardner's waist but Gardner gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Stub off to one side. Gardner appears to be looking for a counter takedown. Stub throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Gardner appears to be looking for a big counter. Stub dips to his left and cracks Gardner with an uppercut! Excellent takedown into side control there by Stub. Stub wants to stand but Gardner has his arm trapped. Gardner wants to control but Stub postures up. Gardner sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Gardner trying to get back to full guard but Stub takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount! Stub controlling the pace for now. Gardner wants to control but Stub is having none of it. Stub looking to control and managing it successfully.
That's one minute gone in the round. Stub working for a submission but Gardner is keeping him at bay. Stub controlling his opponent. Stub is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Stub in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Gardner is desperately trying to improve his position but Stub has a good base and remains in mount. Stub wants to get back to his feet but Gardner is holding on tight.
Gardner is trying to reverse the position but instead Stub has taken his back - oops! Stub is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.
Gardner tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Stub looking to secure an arm triangle but Gardner defends it well. Gardner tries to get back to half guard but can't. Stub controlling the pace for now. Gardner is working to get back to half guard.
Stub controlling from mount. Gardner is desperately trying to improve his position but Stub has a good base and remains in mount. Gardner is working hard here to advance position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Stub content just to control the position here. Stub with the ground and pound from mount.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gardner regains half guard. Stub is nestled in close to Gardner, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Gardner makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Gardner. Stub controlling from the top position. Gardner is looking to sweep but instead, Stub has passed into half guard.
Stub is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Gardner wants to get back to full guard. Stub takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Gardner moves into full guard.
Stub is working Gardner over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Stub sitting in guard, not really doing much. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Stub distracts Gardner with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Stub controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Py Stub dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Stub fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Stub fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Gardner to the ground. Stub is now in Gardner's guard. Gardner wants to sweep but no luck. Gardner keeping full guard, as Stub tries to pass. Gardner trying to keep a closed guard but Stub is proving a slippery customer.
Stub wants to get up but he can't break Gardner's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Gardner pulls Stub in close to prevent any damage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Gardner has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Stub can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Gardner wants to sweep here but Stub controlling him for the moment.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Stub's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Gardner is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Stub scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Stub cracks Gardner with a solid left hand. Gardner can't keep his opponent in guard - Stub advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Stub content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Stub works his way into side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gardner takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. Gardner is being controlled here. Stub working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Stub working the head and body with strikes. Stub decides to take the fight back to the feet. Stub with a nice cross. Gardner stuffs the takedown. Gardner avoids a kick to the body.
That's three minutes gone in the round. No luck with that takedown attempt from Stub. Lanny Gardner has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Py Stub. Stub throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Gardner looked to counter with a high kick but didn't commit. Gardner gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Gardner is trying to keep Stub in close.
Stub controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Stub has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Gardner wants to sweep here but Stub controlling him for the moment.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Gardner is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Stub gets full guard. Stub working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Gardner doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Gardner manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Py Stub has got the better of the ground game so far. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Stub holds on and takes a little breather. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Py Stub showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Gardner's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!
Gardner shoots and misses and Stub cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Stub shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Gardner defends it nicely. Stub swats away the attempt to clinch by Gardner. Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Stub!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Gardner fails in his attempt to clinch. Stub manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Gardner on his heels. He'll look to pass Gardner's guard now, I'm sure.

Stub is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Stub trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Gardner is trying to control the position but Stub postures up. Stub is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Gardner not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Stub tries to stand but Gardner is controlling from the bottom.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Stub shoots in but Gardner avoids the takedown attempt easily. Stub takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Stub clinches with his opponent.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Stub successfully pulls guard.

Stub keeping moving, preventing Gardner from controlling successfully. Gardner lands a couple of decent looking shots. Stub throws his legs up looking for a submission but Gardner uses it to pass to side control.
Stub tries to buck Gardner off but Gardner is having none of it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Stub is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Gardner asserts his dominance and retains side control. Stub dodges the ground and pound from Gardner. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Stub is looking to reverse the position. Gardner trying to control the position but Stub is working away.
And that's the end of the fight! Py Stub comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Stub has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
