Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Matt Cooke!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, St Pre James!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Alan Glass and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cooke takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Matt Cooke seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Cooke staying out of range there.
Cooke swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.
Cooke connects with a body shot that sends James's belly button to the back.
James walks into a left hand.


It looks like St Pre James has been cut.
Cooke lands with a kick to the ribs.
James slips a straight right by Cooke.
James tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
A jab from Cooke misses.
James with the counter takedown but Cooke avoids it easily.
James wants to clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Cooke attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
James is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.
Cooke has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Thunder MMA in the buildup to the fight.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Cooke throws the kick towards the body but James avoids it.
Cooke on the wrong end of a nice jab.
James tries to clinch but Cooke is having none of it.
James misses the shot to the body.
Cooke misses the body punch
and James connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Cooke scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Cooke wants to slow James down by chopping away at his legs.
Cooke tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but James was well out of range. Poor timing from Cooke.
James has tried to improve his agility in the runup to this fight.
James takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.


James is rocked!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
James shoots in looking for a takedown but Cooke manages to keep the fight standing, pushing James's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Cooke drops a shoulder and throws an uppercut that cracks James right on the button. James goes down! Cooke follows him to the mat and finishes the job with more strikes! Cooke gets the win via TKO!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:13 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Matt Cooke!
