PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jimmy Jansson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chimi Gurung (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jansson comes into the arena with Pain - Shut Your Mouth blaring out of the sound system. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Jimmy Jansson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Chimi Gurung!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Phil Schofield and James Ackerman.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gurung dives in and grabs Jansson's left leg, looking for a takedown. Jansson pushes down on Gurung's head and hops out.
It looked like Jansson wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Jansson scores with a hook to the body. Gurung takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Jansson scores with a jab.
Gurung shoots and misses
and Jansson connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

It looks like Chimi Gurung has been cut.
Gurung closes the distance looking to clinch

and Jansson counters with a big uppercut that knocks Gurung off his feet! Jansson dives into side control looking to finish!
Gurung looks winded!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Jansson is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Gurung will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
Jansson has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Jansson in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
Gurung tries to escape but Jansson is in control.
You can see the frustration on Gurung's face as Jansson controls the position.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Chimi Gurung seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Gurung has his takedown stuffed
and Jansson counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Jimmy Jansson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chimi Gurung.

Gurung shoots and misses
and Jansson cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Gurung throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Jansson scores with a counter punch that sends Gurung to the canvas! Jansson smells blood - he's punishing Gurung with more strikes and the ref has stopped it! Gurung has no idea where he is - he's tackled the ref... oh dear, poor guy, the crowd is in hysterics!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:18 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jimmy Jansson!
Jimmy Jansson really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that Sin City Allstars logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
