Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Olen Kidd (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Oleg Ober (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Oleg Ober told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Olen Kidd! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Oleg Ober! The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Wagner Zegers and Paul Aken.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ober shoots in for a takedown but Kidd shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Ober moves in looking to clinch but Kidd pushes him off. Ober looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Ober shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Kidd as he avoids it easily. Kidd keeps the fight on the outside. Kidd stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Kidd wants it to stay on the feet. Olen Kidd has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Oleg Ober. Kidd defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Ober. Kidd swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. Ober shoots in looking for a takedown but Kidd manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Ober's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ober dives in for a single leg takedown but Kidd sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Ober closes this distance looking for a takedown but Kidd circles away. Kidd tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. A head kick misses from Ober. Ober looks winded!
That's one minute gone in the round. Kidd closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Kidd wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Ober, who protects the arm well. Ober on the wrong end of some ground and pound. Kidd decides to stand up, so the ref orders Ober to his feet. Ober shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Ober misses with a straight left.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ober is trying hard to land a takedown here. Kidd sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Ober fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Kidd shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Kidd showed some decent athleticism there. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Kidd is trying to work for a kimura but Ober is defending well.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Kidd is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Ober sees it coming and defends easily. Kidd trying to control the action but Ober is working from the bottom. Ober pushes Kidd off looking to stand but Kidd dives back in and keeps control.
Kidd seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Kidd throwing shots but Ober is blocking nicely. Kidd is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Ober sees it coming and defends easily. Ober blocking the ground and pound attempt from Kidd. Kidd looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Ober with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Kidd tries to stand and escape but Ober is controlling the position. Kidd is trying to control. Ober wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Kidd is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Kidd not doing much here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kidd thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Kidd missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Ober is trying to maintain the position but Kidd is very close to passing his half guard.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Kidd tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Ober defends well and Kidd ends up having to push Ober into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Ober works Kidd's body with a nice hook. Ober shoots in looking for a takedown but Kidd manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Ober's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Kidd takes a body punch but keeps moving. Ober shoots in for a takedown but Kidd shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. A quick step to the side and Kidd tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Olen Kidd dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Kidd looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Ober dives in and grabs Kidd's left leg, looking for a takedown. Kidd pushes down on Ober's head and hops out. Kidd shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Ober pinned against the cage. Ober gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Ober misses with a takedown attempt - Kidd sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Olen Kidd is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kidd fails with the takedown and Ober counters with a nice double leg into half guard. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Olen Kidd. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kidd moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Kidd is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Olen Kidd overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Ober slips nicely into half guard. Kidd looks like he's trying to stand up.
Kidd looking for submissions off his back. Kidd has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Ober stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being. Ober tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target. Ober sizes up Kidd with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. Ober has closed the distance and engaged Kidd in a clinch.

Ober is pushing down on Kidd's leg trying to pass to half guard. Kidd is fighting to maintain full guard but Ober has managed to sneak the leg through. Ober with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Ober passes to full mount!
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Ober gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks! Ober drives through and clinches with Kidd against the cage.
Kidd is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Ober is defending well. Ober is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Ober working some nice short punches in the clinch. Kidd has Ober pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Ober manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Ober pulls guard effortlessly. Ober tries to land a sweep but no joy. Ober trying to control the position.

Oleg Ober showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Kidd wants to get up but he can't break Ober's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Kidd throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Kidd stands up and waves to Ober to follow him. Ober shoots in but Kidd avoids the takedown attempt easily. Kidd half committed to a counter leg kick. Kidd needs to keep his hands up - Ober had a free shot at his head there.

Ober is pressed up against the cage. Kidd has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Ober down to the mat. Ober avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Kidd displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Ober. Olen Kidd has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Oleg Ober. Ober takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Ober throws a right and a left that Kidd avoids nicely. Ober misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Nice takedown defense from Kidd. No joy for Ober on that attempt. A little feinted left hand from Kidd on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.

Olen Kidd is winning the standup battle so far. Ober stuffs the takedown attempt from Kidd. Kidd gets slowly back to his feet. Ober fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Kidd shoots in and bounces Ober off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Kidd darts in looking for a takedown but Ober gets double underhooks and turns Kidd into the cage. The fight stays on the outside here - Ober looks like he's thinking about clinching though. As Ober looks to move away, Kidd throws a big counter combo but Ober just gets out of the way. Ober rushes Kidd and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Kidd tries for a takedown but Ober manages to get underhooks.

And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Oleg Ober. I think Ober has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
