Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jake Vos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Romeo Hernanes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vos comes to the cage accompanied by Three Little Birds. Hernanes comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Awolnation - Sail kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Alan Glass and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hernanes slips a jab and a cross from Vos.

Hernanes takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.

Vos throws a strike aimed at the side of Hernanes's head but Hernanes avoids it well.
Hernanes felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
The ground and pound from Vos seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hernanes is trying to control Vos's posture but Vos avoids it.
Vos is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Vos manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Hernanes on his heels. He'll look to pass Hernanes's guard now, I'm sure.
Hernanes has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Vos off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Hernanes tries a quick counter leg kick but Vos is wise to it.
Hernanes tries to sprawl but Vos drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Vos wants to pass the guard but Hernanes is defending well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Vos prevents Hernanes from standing back up.

Vos is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Hernanes defends it well.

Vos stalling away here and it's allowed Hernanes to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Vos sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Hernanes's guard.
Hernanes regains full guard. Nicely done.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Jake Vos will probably get the nod.
That's time! Vos's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
No joy there for Vos, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
As Vos backs off Hernanes throws a huge counter combo but Vos manages to avoid it all.
Good exchange - Vos coming out on top.
Vos fails to land the takedown.
Danga de danga de dang - Vos scores with a four punch combination!
Vos changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Hernanes tries to avoid it but Vos manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Hernanes to the ground. Hernanes escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Romeo Hernanes is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Nice defenses there by Hernanes.
Hernanes is looking for the big counter here.
Vos misses the shot to the body.
Despite the aggression on Hernanes's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Nice uppercut there from Vos.
Vos feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Hernaness jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Hernanes ducks under a wild hook from Vos.
Vos swats away the attempt to clinch by Hernanes.
Vos is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Vos uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Hernanes has time to react.
Hernanes drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Vos drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Hernanes tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Hernanes defending nicely against the rear naked choke attempt.
Hernanes is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Vos off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted.

Vos working from the back looking to end the fight with a rear naked choke. Hernanes is doing well to defend. Vos seems to have got his hand under the chin though and he's sunk the choke in! Hernanes is forced to tap and this one is over!
