Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jose Mera (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steven Stark (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Stark has chosen Sledgehammer! as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

17 - 15 - 1, fighting out of London, Jose Mera! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
11 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Steven Stark! The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Paul Gruel and Micheangelo Fripello.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! No luck with that takedown attempt from Mera. Stark lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Mera circles away quickly and effectively. Mera will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Stark looks like he wants to counter punch here. Mera has a takedown stuffed. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jose Mera. That's going to take a lot out of him. Mera fails with the takedown and Stark counters with a one-two to the body. Mera shoots in for a double leg but Stark sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Mera is looking to clinch. Mera shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Stark as he jumps to the side. Stark lands with a kick to the ribs.

Stark lands a nice uppercut. Stark throws a head punch that misses. Mera turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control! Stark keeping his opponent close. Stark is trying to improve his position. Mera misses with an attempted head punch from side control. Mera blocks the strikes from Stark.
Stark is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Mera wants to control but Stark is keeping him busy. We've been hearing good reports from Mera's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Mera postures up in Stark's guard and throws a big left but Stark blocks it. Mera drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Stark dives on top into guard. Stark connects with a couple of short punches. Stark working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Stark slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Stark lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Mera is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Steven Stark dominated that round. That's time! Mera's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Mera is defended easily by Stark. Stark lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Mera backs up against the cage.

Stark digs a right hand underneath Mera's ribcage. Mera let out a lung full of air as it connected. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Stark lands a right hand. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Mera drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Stark gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Mera seems to have got his legs back now. Still in the clinch, Stark scores with a nice short uppercut. Stark lands with a short head shot on the inside. Stark jumps into guard, dragging Mera to the mat.
Mera pushes down on Stark's leg and manages to get into half guard. Stark is looking to control Mera's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Stark avoid being mounted? Stark is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Mera pulls his head out easily. Mera is thwarting Stark's attempts to control the position. Mera is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Stark is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Mera's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Mera's back! Stark scores with punches and elbows. Stark lands a punch to the side of the head from the back. This has been an exciting period of action! Stark lands a series of strikes from the back and Mera goes limp! The ref jumps in to save him!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:54 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Steven Stark! Steven Stark spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
