PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Marcos Meyers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kuda Fore (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Marcos Meyers!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Kuda Fore!
The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Ryoma Takatsuka and Paul Gruel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Meyers lands with a good body shot.
Meyers keeps the fight on the outside.
Horrible takedown attempt by Meyers or perhaps it was just good defense by Fore, which made it look bad.
A head kick misses from Fore.
Meyers throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Fore stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Fore cracks Meyers with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.


It looks like Marcos Meyers has been cut.
Fore looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Meyers is fending him off so far but Fore persists. Nope, Meyers circles away and we're back to standing.
Meyers appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body.
Fore throws a sloppy head kick
and Meyers counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Fore thinking.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Fore rushes Meyers and presses him up against the cage.
Fore using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Meyers has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Meyers tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.

Meyers ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Meyers no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Meyers looking to control.
Fore slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Meyers is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Meyers not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Fore trying to control the position from guard on top but Meyers is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Meyers looking to hit a scissor sweep but Fore is one step ahead there.
Fore would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Fore must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Fore looking to pass the guard.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Fore closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Meyers quickly recovers to half guard.
Meyers is looking for a sweep. Fore is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Meyers is looking to control Fore's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Meyers avoid being mounted?
Fore seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Meyers does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Fore is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
Meyers is trying to control but Fore manages to pass to mount!
Fore wants to control the pace but Meyers is squirming around nicely.
Meyers wants to hold on but Fore pushes him away.
Meyers manages to regain half guard. Good work.
Meyers is refusing to be controlled, as Fore sits in half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Fore looks to land a strike but Meyers avoids it nicely and regains full guard.
Meyers keeping full guard, as Fore tries to pass.
Fore throwing strikes from guard but Meyers blocks nicely.
Meyers looking to control.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Fore wants to control from the top but Meyers keeps moving.
Meyers is trying to control the position but Fore postures up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Kuda Fore will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Marcos Meyers's cut.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!



Fore clinches.

Fore pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Meyers lands with a nice body punch.

Fore bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Meyers tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Fore wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Fore postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Meyers is not content to let Fore control the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Fore staying calm.
Fore in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Fore tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.
Meyers tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Fore wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Meyers looking for a sweep but Fore has passed into full mount! Oh no!
Fore controlling his opponent.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Fore with some aggressive grappling here, looking for the finish.
Fore working the ground and pound effectively.
Meyers is desperately trying to improve his position but Fore has a good base and remains in mount.
Fore fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!


Meyers is rocked!
Fore controlling from the full mount.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Fore connects with a bit shot that sees Meyers covering up! More strikes from Fore and the referee jumps in to stop the fight! Fore is our winner by TKO!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:28 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Kuda Fore!
