Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between William Avery (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bobby Parent (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Bobby Parent was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, William Avery! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Bobby Parent! The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, George Francis and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Avery takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Avery looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Bobby Parent seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Parent gets a double leg takedown into Avery's guard. Parent must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Parent stands up over Avery, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Parent trying to control but Avery is working from the bottom. Parent wants to pass the guard but Avery is keeping the position. Parent controlling from the top position. Avery keeping moving, preventing Parent from controlling successfully. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Parent might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Avery haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Avery's shoulder. That is not cool. Parent is looking to take a break and control but Avery is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Avery tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Parent wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Parent is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Avery is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Parent decides to take the fight back to the feet. Avery tries to score with a low kick but Parent moves his leg out of the way. Parent fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Avery avoids it really well and circles away. The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky. Avery on the wrong end of a nice jab. Avery is looking to chop away at Parent's legs. Nice jab there from Parent. Parent needs to keep his hands up - Avery had a free shot at his head there.

Avery manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Parent keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount. Avery thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Parent's head. Avery looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Parent with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Avery sitting and controlling from the half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Bobby Parent dominated that round. The cut man is working on Bobby Parent's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Parent wants to clinch up but Avery keeps it at a distance. Parent swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Avery misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Parent goes for a double leg but Avery avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Avery continues to drive forward. Parent misses the jab. A punch combination from Parent misses. Some bone on bone action there as Parent checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one. Parent shoots in and bounces Avery off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Parent trying to control but Avery is working from the bottom. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Avery looking to hit a scissor sweep but Parent is one step ahead there. Parent controls Avery momentarily but Avery frees himself. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Avery's corner. There ya go! There ya go! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Avery looking to pass the guard. Avery preventing the sweep.

So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Parent takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Parent fails to land the takedown. Parent shoots for a double leg takedown but Avery sprawls well. He's pushed Parent's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Avery drops down looking for a counter takedown but Parent sprawls and moves away. Parent tries to clinch but Avery is having none of it. Good leg kick by Avery there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Avery manages to get full guard.

Parent doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Parent manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Parent blocks a head kick by Avery.
Parent closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Avery did well to prevent Parent getting side control. Parent slows the pace down in half guard. Parent is trying to control the action in half guard but Avery is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Bobby Parent is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Parent content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Avery wants to get back to full guard. William Avery has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Parent wants to free his trapped foot but Avery is holding on for dear life with his legs.
And that's the end of the fight! William Avery showed his dominance in that final round. I think Parent has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
