Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Gunji Koizumi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Arn Anderson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Arn Anderson will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Gunji Koizumi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Arn Anderson!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Frank Dennis and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Anderson cracks Koizumi with a good jab.
Koizumi tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Anderson paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Anderson throws out a counter right but Koizumi avoids it with no problem.
Anderson takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Anderson lands with a right hand.
A combination from Koizumi does no damage.
Anderson lands a body shot.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Koizumi.
We've been hearing reports that Koizumi has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Nice cross by Anderson.
Koizumi fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Anderson swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
The fighters circling - Anderson throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Koizumi looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Anderson looks like he wants to counter punch here.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Gunji Koizumi. That's going to take a lot out of him.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Anderson paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Koizumi shoots in for a takedown but Anderson shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Koizumi fails with the takedown
and Koizumi takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Koizumi has Anderson up against the cage in a clinch.
Koizumi wants a takedown.

Anderson pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Anderson, as that shot connected.
Koizumi fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Anderson checks it well.
Anderson clobbers Koizumi with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Koizumi fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Anderson manages to avoid it.
Anderson misses with a straight left.
Koizumi drops down looking for a counter takedown but Anderson sprawls and moves away.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Anderson scores with a sloppy right hand. Koizumi should have avoided that one.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Anderson catches Koizumi with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Anderson throws a hook to the side of Koizumi's head but Koizumi sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Gunji Koizumi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Koizumi keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Anderson.
Koizumi throws a leg kick
and Anderson counters with a straight right hand.
A big left from Anderson misses.

Anderson lands a big uppercut and Koizumi crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Koizumi looks OK. Anderson waves Koizumi back to his feet!


Koizumi is rocked!

Koizumi rushes Anderson and presses him up against the cage.
Oh Koizumi is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Koizumi is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Anderson gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Anderson breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Koizumi seems to have got his legs back now.
Anderson jabs Koizumi to the body, keeping him at a distance.
A low kick from Koizumi misses
and Anderson cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Both fighters step back and shake their arms out. Anderson engages and cracks Koizumi with a massive lead left hook - Koizumi tumbles to the floor, out cold! What a shot! Anderson is delighted - all that hard work in training paid off!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Arn Anderson!
A very excited looking Arn Anderson made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
