Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Takeshi Tono (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Everaldo Junior (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Everaldo Junior will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Takeshi Tono! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Everaldo Junior! The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Colin Fray and Roger Salmon.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tono tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target. Tono tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Tono throws a head kick but Junior moves out of range.
And Junior tries to counter it with a takedown but Tono pushes his down on his head and steps out. Tono throws a low kick, looking for Junior's leg but Junior calmly moves out of range. Junior lands a high kick!
Junior misses with a head kick.
Junior scores with a kick to the body.
Junior gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Tono to score an easy takedown into full guard. Tono pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Junior is keeping the position for now. Junior wants to sweep but no luck. Tono is working Junior over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Tono drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Tono jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tono is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Junior is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Junior has escaped and now he's on top! Tono looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Junior being controlled here momentarily. Tono is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Tono throwing shots but Junior is blocking nicely. Junior is in trouble now - Tono has advanced to mount! Tono controlling the position easily from mount. Junior has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it. Tono with a couple of short strikes. The referee warns Junior that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Tono lands a nice shot to the head. Tono looking to control and managing it successfully. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Junior manages to regain half guard. Good work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Tono passes into side control, despite Junior's attempt to control the position.
Junior tries to get back to half guard but can't. Tono trying to control the position but Junior is working away. Junior is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Tono seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Tono tries to pass to full mount but Junior defends it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Junior avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Tono. Tono works his way into side control. Tono working the ground and pound. Tono has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Tono grinds an elbow into Junior's temple. Tono has hold of Junior's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Junior tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Tono cranks the arm and Junior screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Junior, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Takeshi Tono! During a confident post fight interview, Takeshi Tono thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
