Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, John Dillinger! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
14 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Sam B Glenn! The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Nard Betker and Saam Ante.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dillinger uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Glenn.
Dillinger misses with an uppercut
and Glenn finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body. Dillinger throws an overhand right that lands on Glenn's shoulder, as Glenn tries to avoid the shot. Dillinger swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Glenn has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Dillinger is landing a low percentage of strikes. Dillinger takes a jab right on the kisser.
Dillinger throws a jab but it's blocked by Glenn. Dillinger is looking to clinch. Glenn tries to counter with a clinch but Dillinger shakes him off and moves away. Glenn needs to keep his hands up - Dillinger had a free shot at his head there. Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Glenn. Glenn slips a straight right by Dillinger. Glenn swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. Dillinger throws a jab but it's blocked by Glenn. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Glenn slips under a jab. Glenn goes for a high kick. It partially lands. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Glenn. Glenn shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Dillinger napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Dillinger has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Glenn with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Dillinger prevents Glenn from improving his position. Dillinger looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Glenn is looking to control Dillinger's leg but it's slowly edging free. John Dillinger dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Glenn takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Dillinger misses the shot to the body. John Dillinger seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Glenn tries to land a front kick but Dillinger steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Dillinger is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Glenn can do to turn this around? Glenn fails to land the takedown. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Glenn looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Dillinger was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. Dillinger fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Glenn sprawls well initially but Dillinger persists and gets the takedown into half guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Dillinger missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dillinger prevents Glenn from improving his position. John Dillinger overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. The fighters are battling for position here. Glenn manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Dillinger scoring with punches to the head and body. Dillinger is working Glenn over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Glenn doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

Dillinger keeps throwing the strikes, glancing at the referee... Will he stop it?? One more big shot from Dillinger and the ref steps in to end the fight! Dillinger can't hide his delight as he celebrates with his corner.
