Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Pakile Pike (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Larry Kushman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 5 - 3, fighting out of Helsinki, Pakile Pike! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Larry Kushman! The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Nard Betker and Paulsen Ambrosius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pike throws a left and a right that both miss
and Kushman counters with a stiff right hand. Kushman looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Pike throws a series of punches but Kushman moves out of range. Kushman steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Pike. Kushman wants to clinch. Pike displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Kushman throws out the jab. Kushman shoots in looking for a takedown. Pike tries to sprawl out of it but Kushman keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Pike manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Pike appears to be looking for a big counter. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kushman blocks a low kick nicely. The fighters circle momentarily. Kushman darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Pike scores with a head kick. Kushman tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
It looks like Larry Kushman has been cut.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kushman throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Pike throws a body punch but Kushman moves out of range. Pike throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena. A solid body kick from Pike. Pike turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Pike misses with a body shot.
Pike gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Pike looks for the body kick but Kushman saw that one coming. Pike lands a head kick!
Pike uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Kushman. Kushman moves out of range of the body kick. And Kushman tries to counter it with a takedown but Pike pushes his down on his head and steps out. Pike swings away with a leg kick that misses.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Pike tries a head kick but it misses.
Kushman cracks Pike with a right hand to the side of the head. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Kushman's corner calls for a 1-2. Kushman obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Pike misses with a leg kick and Kushman counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Pike! Kushman tries to advance to mount but can't. Kushman tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Kushman has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Kushman is looking to take a break and control but Pike is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Kushman throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Pike works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pike is trying to maintain the position but Kushman is very close to passing his half guard. Pike wants to get back to full guard. Pike trying to control here.
Kushman trying to control from half guard but Pike is working away. Kushman throwing shots but Pike is blocking nicely. Pike is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at Holding Cell that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet. Pike trying to hold on to Kushman's head to control him but Kushman postures up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Pike is concentrating on defense, preventing Kushman from advancing position. Kushman looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Pike gets back to full guard.
Pike tries to land a sweep but no joy. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Kushman pushing down on Pike's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Pike keeping control of the position. Pike keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Pike is looking for a sweep. Kushman is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Pike moves into full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Pakile Pike will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Larry Kushman's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Pike throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky. Pike misses with the body kick and Kushman counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Pike! Pike takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. Pike is trying to get back to half guard. Kushman is chipping away with strikes.
Pike is working to avoid the ground and pound but Kushman connects with a decent elbow. Larry Kushman has got the better of the ground game so far. Pike avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Kushman. Pike tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Kushman wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Pike is looking to regain half guard here but Kushman keeps moving and retains side control. Pike struggling a bit here. Pike is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Kushman wants to pass to mount but Pike is defending the position. Pike knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Kushman on the ground. Pike wants to improve his position but Kushman is controlling well.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Pike controlling the leg, holding on to half guard. Pike is staying active underneath Kushman, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Pike works his way to full guard. Good work. Pike bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Kushman's guard. Kushman is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Kushman throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Kushman is trying to control the action in half guard but Pike is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Pike keeping hold of Kushman's head, controlling as best he can. Kushman takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Pike is trying to maintain the position but Kushman is very close to passing his half guard. Pike regains full guard. Nicely done. Kushman landing some decent shots from guard. Kushman trying to control but Pike is working from the bottom. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Pike preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Pike keeping moving, preventing Kushman from controlling successfully. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Kushman postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Kushman is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Pike connects with an inside leg kick. Pike bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Pike thows a body kick. Kushman tries to catch it but that hurt him. Pike slips under a jab. Pike uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Kushman. Pike throws a head kick that misses. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kushman lands with a straight right. Pike didn't see that one coming. Pike closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Pike lands in his opponent's guard. Kushman is trying to control the position but Pike postures up. Kushman has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kushman pulls Pike in close to his closed guard and prevents Pike from doing any damage or advancing position. Pike is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Kushman trying to keep a closed guard but Pike is proving a slippery customer.
Pike showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Pike tries to stand but Kushman is controlling from the bottom. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Pike is fighting to break Kushman's control of his arms but Kushman is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Kushman misses with an uppercut
and Pike counters with a leg kick. Kushman moves out of range of the leg kick from Pike. Kushman jabs Pike to the body, keeping him at a distance. Pakile Pike is winning the standup battle so far. Pike ducks right into an uppercut from Kushman. Kushman moves out of range as Pike throws a body kick.
Pike sets himself, and Kushman steps forward looking for the clinch! Pike avoids it this time. Pike closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. You can see the frustration on Kushman's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pike wants to lay and pray for a moment but Kushman keeps working. Kushman wants to control but Pike postures up. What's Kushman going to do here then? He's in a bit of a pickle. Pike remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. Kushman is looking to reverse the position. Pike working away. Kushman tries to buck Pike off but Pike is having none of it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. You can see the frustration on Kushman's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Pike is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Kushman's shoulder. That is not cool. Pike working away. Pike tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it. Pike advances to full mount. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Kushman tries to hold on but Pike postures up.
And that's the end of the fight! Pakile Pike showed his dominance in that final round. Well Pike has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
