Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jeff Hodges (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jaak Bronskiv (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jeff Hodges!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jaak Bronskiv!
The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Patrick Alders and Wagner Zegers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bronskiv with a poor takedown

and Hodges counters by clinching up.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.
Hodges could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Bronskiv tries to throw a body punch but Hodges avoids it by throwing Bronskiv back against the cage.
Hodges can't get the takedown.

Bronskiv lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Hodges is refusing to be controlled, as Bronskiv sits in half guard.
Hodges wants to improve his position but Bronskiv is controlling well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Hodges looking for submissions off his back.
Bronskiv trying to control the action but Hodges is working from the bottom.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Bronskiv is just content to waste time from the top position. Hodges takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

Bronskiv decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Hodges, up you get!
Bronskiv lands with a kick to the temple. Hodges shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"


It looks like Jeff Hodges has been cut.

Hodges feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Hodges throwing strikes but missing.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Hodges postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Bronskiv is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Hodges, into his guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Bronskiv looking to sit in guard and control but Hodges gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Bronskiv is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Bronskiv working a defensive guard but Hodges manages to pass into side control anyway.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Hodges is trying to get an arm triangle but Bronskiv is defending well.
Bronskiv is looking for a sweep.
Bronskiv trying his best to control but Hodges has mounted him.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Bronskiv tries to hold on but Hodges pushes him away.
Bronskiv is flailing around like a fish out of water, trying to land strikes.
Bronskiv keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Bronskiv keeps trying to improve his position.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Bronskiv tries to buck Hodges off but he can't manage it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Jeff Hodges will probably get the nod.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Bronskiv smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Hodges blocks the body kick.

Bronskiv has managed to clinch.
Bronskiv goes for a takedown in the clinch but Hodges prevents it.
Bronskiv wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Hodges has him pressed against the cage.
Hodges is trying to pull guard but Bronskiv has him pressed against the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bronskiv tries to work over Hodges's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Hodges tries to pull guard but Bronskiv forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

Bronskiv breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Bronskiv dives in and grabs Hodges's left leg, looking for a takedown. Hodges pushes down on Bronskiv's head and hops out.

Bronskiv is trying to pull guard but Hodges turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Jeff Hodges has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jaak Bronskiv.

Bronskiv gets control of Hodges's arms and successfully pulls guard. Bronskiv will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Bronskiv is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Bronskiv throws a strike but Hodges avoids it easily and moves to full guard.
Bronskiv wants to control from the top but Hodges keeps moving.

Hodges has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Hodges is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Bronskiv is aware though and is defending well.
Hodges is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Bronskiv accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Hodges keeping moving, preventing Bronskiv from controlling successfully.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Bronskiv wants to stand but Hodges is controlling his posture from full guard.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Bronskiv blocks the body kick.

Bronskiv closes the distance and pushes Hodges back into the cage.
Bronskiv wants to break the clinch but can't.
Hodges tries to score a body lock takedown but Bronskiv shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Bronskiv jumps into guard, dragging Hodges to the mat.
Hodges looking to sit in guard and control but Bronskiv gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jaak Bronskiv showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Hodges shoots in looking for a takedown. Bronskiv tries to sprawl out of it but Hodges keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Bronskiv manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Bronskiv steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Hodges.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bronskiv shoots for a takedown but Hodges saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

and Hodges counters with a nice double leg into guard.

Bronskiv will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

Bronskiv keeping moving, preventing Hodges from controlling successfully.
Bronskiv wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Hodges drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Bronskiv manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Hodges has Bronskiv in his guard.


Hodges throws his legs up looking for a submission but Bronskiv uses it to pass to side control.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Bronskiv decides to stand up, so the ref orders Hodges to his feet.
Jeff Hodges is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Bronskiv has Hodges up against the cage in a clinch.

Bronskiv manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Bronskiv bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Hodges's guard.

Bronskiv forces his way into half guard.
Hodges is not content to let Bronskiv control the position.
Bronskiv tries to pass the half guard into mount. Hodges knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Hodges on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Hodges is trying to get back to full guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Hodges trying to get back to full guard but Bronskiv takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount!
Bronskiv has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Hodges is squirming around, avoiding Bronskiv's attempts to control the action.
Hodges is desperately trying to improve his position but Bronskiv has a good base and remains in mount.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Bronskiv is landing with some decent strikes but Hodges is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Jaak Bronskiv comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Bronskiv has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
