Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jefferey Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vlad Malyuga (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Frank Dennis and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Malyuga is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Smith.
Smith misses with a jab, cross combination.
Malyuga throws the kick towards the body but Smith avoids it.
As Malyuga looks to move away, Smith throws a big counter combo but Malyuga just gets out of the way.
Malyuga shoots in and bounces Smith off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Smith is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Malyuga is controlling him.
Smith throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Smith will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Smith throws some shots to the body, keeping his opponent honest.
Smith really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Smith is striking from the bottom but Malyuga uses the opportunity to pass into half guard.

Malyuga thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Smith pushes Malyuga off looking to stand but Malyuga dives back in and keeps control.
Malyuga seems to be working for a kimura but Smith defends the submission attempt.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Smith ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Smith no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Malyuga decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Smith throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Malyuga's head.
Malyuga shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Malyuga showed some decent athleticism there.

Malyuga really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Smith. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Smith with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Smith drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Malyuga manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Smith has Malyuga in his guard.
Smith throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Vlad Malyuga will probably get the nod.

Smith avoids a punch combination nicely.
It looked like Smith was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Malyuga shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Smith manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Smith is trying to control the position but Malyuga postures up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Smith wriggles free and stands up.

Smith drags the fight down to the ground.
Malyuga wants to control from the top but Smith keeps moving.
Malyuga is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Smith is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

Smith makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Smith throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
A combination from Smith does no damage.
Smith stalks Malyuga and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Malyuga's face. Malyuga staggers backwards, shaken.
Smith shoots in for a double leg but Malyuga sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Malyuga throws a sloppy head kick and Smith moves out of range easily.
Smith gets caught napping as Malyuga dives in and scores a takedown. Smith manages to retain guard.
Malyuga stops Smith from standing up.
Smith has his feet on Malyuga's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Smith misses with a wild combination.

Malyuga closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Malyuga lands in his opponent's guard.

and Malyuga counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Smith takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Malyuga is trying to push Smith away but Smith has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Malyuga gets control of Smith's arms and successfully pulls guard. Malyuga will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Malyuga is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Smith defends well.

Smith stays in close to Malyuga's body and controls the position.
Malyuga is trying to control the position but Smith postures up.
