Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between James Benson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eric Draven (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Benson comes to the cage accompanied by Mantis-Snapped. Draven is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Dead Souls. Eric Draven is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, James Benson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Eric Draven! The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Reed Andrews and Bruno Lombardi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Benson gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Draven counters with a slapping leg kick. Benson walks forward, straight into a front kick from Draven. Benson doesn't succeed with the takedown and Draven counters with a solid body kick. Benson misses with a takedown and Draven counters with a good low kick that Benson was not able to check. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for James Benson. That's going to take a lot out of him. Benson gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Draven connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Benson shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Draven sprawls well. Draven wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Benson gets slowly back to his feet. Draven with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Draven lands a leg kick that knocks Benson off balance momentarily. Benson shoots and misses and Draven counters with a nice low kick that buckles Benson's knee momentarily. Draven connects with a solid leg kick. Draven scores with a kick to the body.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Benson gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Draven cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Benson is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Draven thumps Benson with a low kick. Draven feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Benson's calf. Draven scores with a spinning back kick! James Benson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Benson gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Draven counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Draven keeps Benson at a distance using the push kick. Draven throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Benson. A solid leg kick lands there for Draven.
Benson takes a body punch but keeps moving. Draven plants his feet and lands a nice head kick! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Draven scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Benson with a lazy takedown attempt and Draven counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena. Draven scoring well with a low kick there.
Benson shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Draven counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Draven lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Draven chopping away at his opponent's legs.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Draven lands with a thumping leg kick.
A thudding body kick lands there by Draven!
Draven feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Benson's calf. Draven fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Benson. Benson manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Draven on his heels. He'll look to pass Draven's guard now, I'm sure. Draven wants to stand up but Benson is controlling him. Benson thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Benson is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Draven wants to stand up but Benson is controlling him. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Benson pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Draven is keeping the position for now. Benson drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Benson jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Benson is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Benson stops Draven from standing up. Benson drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Benson seems to have locked his on tight now - Draven screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Benson, as he picks up the win!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:36 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kneebar). James Benson! James Benson bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it. Eric Draven spoke after the fight, saying 'It can't rain all the time. '.
