The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bravo closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Bravo controlling the action here. Penn is trying to stand back up but Bravo is controlling him
Bravo seems to be working for a kimura but Penn defends the submission attempt. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Bravo is looking for a kimura here.
Bravo not landing any meaningful shots this time. Penn really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Penn trying to control here.
Bravo thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bravo lands with a punch from half guard. Bravo wants to lay and pray for a moment but Penn keeps working. Penn wants to get back to his feet. Penn is staying active underneath Bravo, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Penn shoots in looking for a takedown. Bravo tries to sprawl out of it but Penn keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Bravo manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Penn fails in his attempt to clinch. Penn moves in looking to clinch but Bravo pushes him off.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Bravo swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. The fight stays on the outside here - Penn looks like he's thinking about clinching though. A punch combination from Bravo misses. Bravo uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Penn. Penn throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Bravo. Penn avoids the body shot from Bravo.
Penn tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Bravo paws at him with a jab and circles away. Penn shoots and misses and Bravo counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Penn!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bravo landing punches. Bravo lands a big elbow. Penn is breathing heavily. Bravo trying to control but Penn is having none of it. Penn is working to get back to half guard.
Bravo working away from the top, dropping strikes. Penn wants to control but Bravo is having none of it. Bravo tries to control but Penn wriggling away. Bravo lands a big elbow. Bravo scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Penn is rocked!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Bravo unloads with some vicious shots from mount and Penn wants out - he looks towards the referee who steps in to save him! Bravo celebrates on the cage and the crowd goes wild!
