1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Hankering Dervish! The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Dean Styles and Joseph Jones.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sigfridsson jabs at Dervish's body. Sigfridsson lands with a cross. Dervish throws a nice inside leg kick. Sigfridsson looks to throw the jab but Dervish is out of range. Dervish takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Dervish throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Dervish looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Dervish pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Dervish goes for a high kick. It partially lands. Sigfridsson pivots, looking for a leg kick but Dervish is out of range and Sigfridsson settles back down. Hankering Dervish seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Dervish takes one on the chin but seems OK.

This has been an exciting period of action! Dervish fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Sigfridsson finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Dervish shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Sigfridsson as he avoids it easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dervish rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Sigfridsson counters with a lovely shot to the body. The crowd cheers as Sigfridsson lands an impressive looking overhand right. Dervish doesn't seem phased though. Sigfridsson swings for the body but Dervish moves out of range.
Dervish gets the takedown into side control. Dervish working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter. Sigfridsson is trying to control Dervish's posture but Dervish avoids it. Sigfridsson takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. Dervish grinds an elbow into Sigfridsson's temple. Sigfridsson holds on tight, trying to prevent any damage. Dervish is chipping away with strikes.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Dervish postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Sigfridsson is not in a great position here, taking some shots. Sigfridsson manages to work his way to half guard, despite Dervish's best efforts. Sigfridsson trying to control but Dervish postures up.
Sigfridsson is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Sigfridsson is working hard here to advance position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Dervish throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Dervish not landing any meaningful shots this time. Dervish looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Sigfridsson is trying to control but can't.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Sigfridsson is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Dervish's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Dervish's back! I really don't envy Dervish right now.

Sigfridsson has momentary wrist control but Dervish slips an elbow through the middle. Dervish is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Sigfridsson on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Sigfridsson tries to get out of the position. Dervish lands a couple of elbows. Sigfridsson working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Dervish. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Dervish's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Dervish in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Dervish trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Dervish pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Sigfridsson is keeping the position for now. Sigfridsson wants to sweep but no luck. Dervish drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Dervish jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Dervish chips away with some ground and pound. Hankering Dervish dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Sigfridsson dips down and scores with a jab to the body. We've been told by Sigfridsson's head coaches at Hunter MMA that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Dervish shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Sigfridsson as he avoids it easily. Dervish fails to land the takedown. The fighters circling - Sigfridsson throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Sigfridsson defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Dervish. Benjamin Sigfridsson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hankering Dervish. Dervish on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Sigfridsson. Sigfridsson obviously looking to wear him down.
Dervish pushes Sigfridsson away with a front kick. Dervish throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Dervish fails with a takedown attempt. Sigfridsson scores with a shot to the body.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sigfridsson throws a combination. Dervish tries to block but a couple of punches get through. Dervish shoots and misses and Sigfridsson cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Dervish uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Sigfridsson. Sigfridsson chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Dervish can pounce on him.
Sigfridsson has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Sigfridsson there as he acknowledges the shot. Sigfridsson swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Dervish. Dervish takes one to the side of the head.

Sigfridsson smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Dervish misses with a leg kick. Sigfridsson takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.

Dervish stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Sigfridsson. Sigfridsson sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs. Dervish shoots in looking for a takedown but Sigfridsson manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Dervish's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Dervish looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Sigfridsson is avoiding damage well.

That was a close second round but I would say that Benjamin Sigfridsson will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

He's got his arms around Sigfridsson's waist but Sigfridsson gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Dervish off to one side. Sigfridsson swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect. Dervish walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Sigfridsson lands with a good body shot. Dervish takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Sigfridsson misses with a straight left. Sigfridsson throws a leg kick and Dervish counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Sigfridsson connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Sigfridsson takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
A little feinted left hand from Sigfridsson on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Dervish fails with the takedown. Dervish shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Sigfridsson is trying to maintain the position but Dervish is very close to passing his half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dervish is nestled in close to Sigfridsson, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Sigfridsson slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Dervish loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Dervish trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Dervish has gone for a leg lock! Sigfridsson slips out almost immediately though and dives into Dervish's guard.
Sigfridsson got a little sloppy there for a moment and Dervish has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Sigfridsson has managed to get both his arms back between Dervish's legs - danger averted. Sigfridsson seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Dervish keeping moving, preventing Sigfridsson from controlling successfully.
And that's the end of the fight! Benjamin Sigfridsson showed his dominance in that final round. I think Sigfridsson has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
