Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ruud DenHaag! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Carlton Lynch! The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Albert Achterberg and Saam Ante.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lynch displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from DenHaag. A big right from Lynch misses. Lynch should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. DenHaag looks to land a combination but Lynch avoids it well. Lynch ducks down and throws a hook to the body but DenHaag moves away. DenHaag keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Lynch throws a hook but DenHaag avoids it easily. DenHaag misses with a takedown and Lynch counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Lynch closes the distance and clinches. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Lynch prevents a takedown attempt there.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ruud DenHaag. That's going to take a lot out of him. Lynch tries a body shot but DenHaag blocks it.
Lynch softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage. DenHaag blocks a body shot from Lynch. Lynch goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
That's one minute gone in the round. DenHaag blocking some punches.
Lynch swings wildly with an uppercut but DenHaag uses good head movement to avoid it. Lynch tries a body shot but DenHaag blocks it.
DenHaag breaks the clinch.
DenHaag needs to keep his hands up - Lynch had a free shot at his head there. Lynch throws a hook but DenHaag blocks it. Lynch connects with a good right hand that stumbles DenHaag. DenHaag circles away out of range and recomposes himself. We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Lynch has eaten all the pies! The fighters circling - Lynch throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Lynch defends well against a solid takedown attempt from DenHaag. DenHaag shoots in and drives through. Lynch sprawls well. DenHaag takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. DenHaag is breathing heavily. Lynch swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Lynch lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Lynch chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before DenHaag can pounce on him.
DenHaag shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Lynch pinned against the cage. Lynch gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Lynch lands a straight punch to the body, keeping DenHaag at a distance.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! DenHaag takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Lynch misses with a hook. Lynch lands with a cross. Lynch throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
DenHaag takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
DenHaag is rocked! Lynch lands a slapping body shot.
Donk. Lynch catches DenHaag right on the button with a cross. Oh DenHaag is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lynch circles away before darting back in with a big straight right hand. It connects beautifully and sends DenHaag tumbling to the canvas! He's out cold! Lynch wins by KO!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:10 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Carlton Lynch!
