John Wick seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Wick throws a shot from downtown. Kuznetsov moves away and avoids it.
Wick lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
It looks like Ivan Kuznetsov has been cut.
Wick thows a leg kick but Kuznetsov checks it
and Kuznetsov counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Wick lands a nice shot to the body.
Kuznetsov looks winded!
Wick lands a left and a right that send Kuznetsov crashing to the mat, dazed. Wick thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Wick throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Wick lands a brutal uppercut that launches Kuznetsov off his feet! Kuznetsov tumbles to the floor, barely conscious - the referee jumps in to save him from a beating! Wow, what an ending!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:26 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). John Wick!
In defeat, Ivan Kuznetsov stepped up to the mic, saying 'Thanks God!'.
