Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Dante Fluentez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Deshawn Shaw (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Deshawn Shaw looks lathargic as he enters the arena. Wake up son, you're about to have a fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Deshawn Shaw! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Don Winkell and .
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Shaw fails with a takedown attempt from distance. As Shaw backs away, Fluentez returns fire with a leg kick that just misses. Shaw looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Shaw has a takedown stuffed. Fluentez closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Shaw's guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Fluentez distracts Shaw with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Fluentez stands up and waves to Shaw to follow him. Fluentez scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
That's one minute gone in the round. Fluentez looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Fluentez cracks Shaw with a solid left hand. Fluentez is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Shaw keeping moving, preventing Fluentez from controlling successfully. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Fluentez landing some decent shots from guard. Fluentez is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Fluentez thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Fluentez passes easily into side control. Nice work. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Shaw is being controlled here. Fluentez will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Fluentez tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Fluentez has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Fluentez remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. Fluentez lands an elbow.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Fluentez is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Shaw knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Fluentez controls the position. Fluentez seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Shaw for as long as he can get away with. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Fluentez in side control lands a decent elbow. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

No, Shaw has escaped the position, nice work there. Fluentez taking a breather here. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Fluentez cracks Shaw with a big elbow. Fluentez has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Shaw is breathing heavily. Fluentez moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
That's one minute gone in the round. Fluentez landing strikes. Fluentez is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Shaw has escaped the position, nice work there. Shaw trying to remain calm as Fluentez controls from the top position. Fluentez working the ground and pound from side control. Fluentez staying calm. Fluentez lands a nice forearm strike.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Fluentez thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Fluentez content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though. Shaw felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it. Fluentez wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Shaw, who protects the arm well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Fluentez lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Shaw down.
Fluentez happy to just control the position for now. Fluentez landing a few strikes. Shaw is not in a great position here, taking some shots. Fluentez is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Shaw can do to turn this around? Fluentez decides to stand back up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Fluentez throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Shaw tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Fluentez is in Shaw's guard. Fluentez wants to control from the top but Shaw keeps moving. Fluentez not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Fluentez continues to stall. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Fluentez trying to control the position from guard on top but Shaw is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Dante Fluentez dominated that second round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!
Shaw swings for the body but Fluentez moves out of range.
Fluentez feints and as Shaw raises his hands in defense, Fluentez changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Fluentez postures up in Shaw's guard and throws a big left but Shaw blocks it. Fluentez is pushing down on Shaw's leg trying to pass to half guard. Shaw is fighting to maintain full guard but Fluentez has managed to sneak the leg through. Fluentez is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Shaw has managed to free his arm - good work. Fluentez is trying to work for a kimura but Shaw is defending well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Fluentez lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Fluentez passes to full mount! Fluentez controlling from mount. Fluentez lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Deshawn Shaw has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Fluentez wants to finish this one by submission but Shaw is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Fluentez . Fluentez controlling the pace for now. Shaw in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. Fluentez tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Fluentez trying to control but he's not successful this time. Shaw is bucking up trying to escape but Fluentez cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Fluentez is working for a guillotine from mount but Shaw frees his head quite easily.
Fluentez working for a submission but Shaw is keeping him at bay. Shaw is working to get back to half guard.
Fluentez controlling from the full mount. Fluentez has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Shaw can do anything to dispel that myth.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Fluentez working the ground and pound effectively.
Fluentez wants to control the pace but Shaw is squirming around nicely. Dante Fluentez is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Fluentez moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Shaw has worked his arm free - good work by Shaw!
And that's the end of the fight! Dante Fluentez showed his dominance in that final round. Well Fluentez has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
