Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Heddy Lamaar! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Vinz Tabb! The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Taro Takaoka and Yukihiro Shimada.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lamaar shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Lamaar postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Tabb looks a forlorn figure.

The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Lamaar thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage. Tabb tries to lock up and control but Lamaar gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Lamaar misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Lamaar passes to full mount! Tabb wants to control but Lamaar is having none of it. A nice elbow there by Lamaar. Tabb tries to get back to half guard but can't. Tabb in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. That's three minutes gone in the round. Lamaar can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Tabb is looking to escape. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. The referee warns Tabb that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Lamaar unloads with some shots from mount but Tabb bucks and avoids them well.
Tabb really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Lamaar. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Donk. Tabb catches Lamaar right on the button with a cross. Lamaar changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Tabb looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Lamaar misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

That's one minute gone in the round. Lamaar takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Lamaar tries to pass the half guard into mount. Tabb knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Tabb is staying active underneath Lamaar, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Tabb is looking to control Lamaar's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Tabb avoid being mounted? Lamaar throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Lamaar is tying to control. Tabb wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Tabb misses with a jab, cross combination.
Tabb throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Lamaar moves into range and clinches up with Tabb.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Lamaar turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Lamaar manages to end up in side control. Lamaar trying to control the action but Tabb is working from the bottom. Tabb is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Tabb avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Lamaar. Lamaar landing a few strikes. Vinz Tabb has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Is there anything that Tabb can do to turn this around? Lamaar creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Tabb sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. The strikes coming from Lamaar are missing the target in this wave of attacks. Tabb wants to control but Lamaar postures up.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Tabb misses with a two punch combination.

That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Lamaar is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the ropes. Lamaar swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Tabb pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Tabb throws a half hearted mid kick. Tabb misses with a hook. Lamaar ducked under it nicely. Lamaar has a takedown stuffed. Tabb looks to land a combination but Lamaar avoids it well. Vinz Tabb is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Tabb scores to the head and body with a nice combination! Tabb throws a right hand that Lamaar ducks under and follows up with a left that Lamaar also avoids with ease. Tabb tries to close the distance and clinch up but Lamaar swats him away and circles back towards the center. Lamaar scores with a takedown into Tabb's guard. Heddy Lamaar is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Lamaar content to stall in guard here.
And that's the end of the fight! Heddy Lamaar showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Lamaar, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
