Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between De Janeiro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lee Lewis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lewis has chosen NIN - Only as his entrance music. De Janeiro has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
10 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, De Janeiro! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Lee Lewis! The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, George Francis and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Both fighters are only really looking to counter, so after a good 30 seconds of circling eachother endlessly, the referee has stepped in and told them both to be more aggressive. Lewis drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Lewis wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Janeiro, who protects the arm well. Lewis looking to control but instead Janeiro has slipped a leg in, to regain half guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Lewis is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Janeiro defends it well. Janeiro is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lewis is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Janeiro is just riding it out for now. Lewis eventually gives up the hold. Lewis keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Lewis looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Lewis is working for a kimura but Janeiro is defending it quite comfortably.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Lewis tries to pass the half guard into mount. Janeiro knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Lewis wants to lay and pray for a moment but Janeiro keeps working. Janeiro has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lewis is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Janeiro defends it well. Lewis is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Janeiro doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Lewis. Janeiro desperately trying to maintain half guard.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Lewis looking to score a takedown here. Janeiro is defending well but Lewis drives through and ends up in Janeiro's guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Lewis trying to control the position from guard on top but Janeiro is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Janeiro looking to hit a scissor sweep but Lewis is one step ahead there. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Lewis trying to control but Janeiro is working from the bottom. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Lee Lewis dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Lewis bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Janeiro can't do much from the bottom here. Lewis is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Janeiro is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Janeiro is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lewis working away. Janeiro prevents Lewis from moving into mount.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Lewis tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Janeiro is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Lewis off and has taken his back! Lewis defending nicely against the rear naked choke attempt.
Janeiro is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Lewis has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Lewis is trying to break free.
Lewis wants to control his opponent's hands but Janeiro gets his hands free. The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Janeiro's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.
Janeiro looking for the RNC. Lewis fending off the submission attempt from Janeiro. Janeiro gets his hands free as Lewis looks to control. Lee Lewis has got the better of the ground game so far. Lewis is in bad spot here.
Janeiro will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Janeiro looking for the RNC. Lewis preventing the rear naked choke attempt from Janeiro. Lewis trying to control the hands but Janeiro won't let him. Janeiro keeps control of the position as Lewis tries to break free.
Janeiro working for the rear naked choke here. He's got one arm under but Lewis is defending well. A couple of punches soften him up though and Janeiro has tightened the hold! This one could be all over! It is! Lewis taps out!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:47 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). De Janeiro! De Janeiro is the new lightweight champion! An out of breath De Janeiro thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
