And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Gap Turner!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Chad Campbell and Anthony Taglia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A slow jab from Turner misses its intended target.
Durden is looking to counter with a shot to the body.
Turner throws a hook but Durden blocks it.
Durden lands with a straight right. Turner didn't see that one coming.

Durden moves out of range of the strikes.
Turner shoots in for a double leg but Durden sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Durden lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
We've been told by Durden's head coaches at Globo Gym that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

The fighters circle momentarily. Durden darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Turner is nestled in close to Durden, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Durden has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Turner is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Durden.

Turner working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Turner looks up at the clock and then as Durden takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Turner smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Turner is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Durden is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Turner steps in looking to counter with the mid kick but it doesn't connect.

Durden loads up on a big right hand but Turner slips the punch.

Turner throws a wild body kick that Durden sees coming a mile off.
Turner stuns Durden with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

Turner throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Durden takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
A little feinted left hand from Durden on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Turner lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Durden is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
Turner takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Durden throws a lazy right hand but Turner sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

and Durden counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Turner doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

Durden on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Turner dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Durden. That did some damage!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Turner is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Turner drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Turner seems to have locked his on tight now - Durden screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Turner, as he picks up the win!
