Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Mr Joker!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Babadou Barry!
The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Thiago Cunha and Leandro Rodrigues.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Joker missing with a left hand there. Barry was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Joker drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Barry really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Joker. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Barry tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Joker wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Joker scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Barry to see if he's OK.
Joker landing strikes.
Joker lands a big elbow and you can see that really hurt Barry! Joker senses the opportunity and scores with more strikes - he's put Barry out! The ref tackles him out of the way to prevent him landing more strikes - this one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:37 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Mr Joker!
A relieved looking Mr Joker thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
