Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Afro Samurai (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dominic Romanelli (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Afro Samurai looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Afro Samurai! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Dominic Romanelli! The judges for this bout are , Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Samurai darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Samurai throwing shots but Romanelli is blocking nicely. Romanelli looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Romanelli is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Samurai's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Samurai's back! Romanelli has his opponent's back and is working for the choke. Samurai trying to control but not successfully. Samurai defending nicely against the rear naked choke attempt.
Samurai tries to escape but Romanelli has the hooks in and won't let him break free. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Samurai is trapped and Romanelli is scoring with shots to the head and body. Samurai is taking damage to the body and head. Samurai is breathing heavily. Romanelli is landing with strikes from the back. Samurai rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
Romanelli tries to pass to full mount but Samurai defends it. Romanelli thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Samurai's head. Romanelli wants to work for an arm triangle but Samurai is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Romanelli winds up and cracks Samurai with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Samurai trying to control but Romanelli postures up.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Romanelli shoots for a takedown but Samurai saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Romanelli closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Romanelli lands in his opponent's guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Romanelli trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Samurai has a closed guard, preventing Romanelli from standing up. Romanelli throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Samurai is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Samurai wants to control but Romanelli passes easily into half guard.
Romanelli stands up and beckons Samurai to join him on the feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Samurai takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Romanelli fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Romanelli misses with a looping left. Samurai fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Romanelli sprawls well initially but Samurai persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Romanelli wants to improve his position but Samurai is controlling well.
Samurai is trying to control the action in half guard but Romanelli is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Samurai prevents Romanelli from standing back up.

Romanelli regains full guard. Nicely done. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Dominic Romanelli dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Romanelli misses with a takedown attempt - Samurai sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Romanelli works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Romanelli misses with a series of wild punches.
Donk. Romanelli catches Samurai right on the button with a cross. Nice cross by Romanelli. Romanelli cracks Samurai with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Romanelli swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Romanelli looks to land a combination. Samurai sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots. Romanelli misses with a double jab.
Samurai scores with a kick to the midsection. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Romanelli thuds his right hand into Samurai's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
That's one minute gone in the round. Samurai moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Romanelli cracks Samurai with an open hand slap. Samurai swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Romanelli lands a head shot. Nice sprawl there from Samurai as Romanelli shoots in. Romanelli tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Samurai swivels and escapes. Afro Samurai has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dominic Romanelli. Romanelli tries for a takedown but Samurai circles away easily and Samurai counters with a single leg into guard. Romanelli didn't expect that. Samurai wants to control from the top but Romanelli keeps moving. Samurai avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Romanelli has his feet on Samurai's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work. Samurai darts in and clinches Romanelli up against the cage. Romanelli breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Samurai scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Samurai wants to lay and pray for a moment but Romanelli keeps working.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Romanelli kicks off Samurai and gets to his feet. Samurai tries to close the distance and clinch up but Romanelli swats him away and circles back towards the center. Romanelli swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Samurai moves into the clinch. Samurai has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Romanelli clear over his head and slammed him to the mat! Romanelli breaks Samurai's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Samurai tries to land a sweep but no joy. Romanelli decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Samurai, up you get!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Romanelli connects with a crisp jab. Nice uppercut lands for Romanelli. That snapped Samurai's head back.
Romanelli uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Samurai has time to react. Samurai misses with a leg kick. Romanelli keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Romanelli lands a right hook to the body.
Romanelli cracks Samurai with an open hand slap. Samurai closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Samurai slips a jab and a cross from Romanelli.
Samurai fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Samurai wants to clinch up but Romanelli keeps it at a distance. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Dominic Romanelli will probably get the nod - 10:9. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!

Samurai trying to keep a closed guard but Romanelli is proving a slippery customer.

Romanelli gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Romanelli darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Romanelli feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Romanelli postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Samurai looking for a sweep. Not yet Samurai, not yet. Samurai is trying to control the position but Romanelli postures up. Romanelli has gone for a leg lock! Samurai slips out almost immediately though and dives into Romanelli's guard. That's two minutes gone in the round. Samurai trying to control but Romanelli is working from the bottom. Romanelli has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Romanelli has his feet on Samurai's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work. Samurai throws a sloppy head kick and Romanelli moves out of range easily. Samurai takes a shot right to the bread basket. Samurai gets cracked there but stands up to it.
The fighters circle momentarily. Romanelli darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Romanelli cracks Samurai with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Nice shot lands for Romanelli. Samurai avoids a punch combination nicely.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Romanelli gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Samurai counters with a series of strikes. Romanelli will be more careful next time no doubt. Romanelli swats away the attempt to clinch by Samurai. Romanelli misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Afro Samurai has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dominic Romanelli. Romanelli shoots in for a double leg but Samurai sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Samurai looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that. Samurai has his takedown stuffed letting Romanelli counter with a right hand. Samurai staying out of range there. Romanelli throws a nice looking combination but Samurai bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. A telegraphed right hand from Romanelli misses the target. Samurai gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Romanelli wants to pass the guard but Samurai is keeping the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Romanelli gets to his feet. Samurai looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! A head kick misses from Samurai. Samurai doesn't manage to clinch there - Romanelli circles away.
Samurai with a poor takedown and Romanelli counters with a series of strikes. Samurai will be more careful next time no doubt. Samurai clinches up with Romanelli and pushes him back against the cage. Samurai jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Romanelli walks away with a smile on his face. Samurai gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Dominic Romanelli seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Romanelli lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Romanelli with a hook. And that's the end of the fight! Dominic Romanelli comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Romanelli winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
