Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Anthony Sanchez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and jose velasquez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sanchez comes to the cage accompanied by head up high. Anthony Sanchez has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Anthony Sanchez! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, jose velasquez! The judges for this bout are , Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sanchez tries to keep at a distance but velasquez has taken the fight into the clinch. Sanchez has had enough of the clinch but velasquez keeps him there for the moment. Sanchez jumps guard and drags velasquez to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. velasquez is standing up over Sanchez. Sanchez looks to escape but velasquez dives into side control.
velasquez wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Sanchez, who protects the arm well. Sanchez manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! velasquez is staying active underneath Sanchez, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Sanchez stands up from half guard. velasquez throws a push kick but Sanchez slaps the foot to one side.
That's one minute gone in the round. velasquez moves in looking to clinch but Sanchez pushes him off. Sanchez throws a head kick but velasquez moves out of range.
Sanchez closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Sanchez lands in his opponent's guard. Sanchez loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Sanchez is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Sanchez accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Sanchez slips nicely into half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Sanchez looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Sanchez looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
velasquez wants to improve his position but Sanchez is controlling well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sanchez is looking for a kimura but velasquez is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Sanchez to get the leverage. Sanchez tries to pass to full mount but velasquez defends it. velasquez throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. velasquez keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Sanchez with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. velasquez has one foot on Sanchez's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet. Sanchez closes this distance looking for a takedown but velasquez circles away. Sanchez closes the distance looking to clinch and velasquez counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Sanchez's guard now. velasquez stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Sanchez swivels though and keeps the full guard. Sanchez is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Anthony Sanchez will probably get the nod. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
velasquez fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Sanchez, pushing him back against the cage. velasquez swings wildly with an uppercut but Sanchez uses good head movement to avoid it. velasquez tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Sanchez just stands there and leans against the cage. velasquez blocks a body shot from Sanchez. Sanchez jumps into guard, dragging velasquez to the mat.
velasquez preventing the sweep. velasquez trying to control the position from guard on top but Sanchez is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Sanchez is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
That's one minute gone in the round. velasquez won't allow Sanchez to sweep him here. Sanchez bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in velasquez's guard. Sanchez passes velasquez's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Sanchez stops velasquez from getting back to his feet.
Sanchez content to control rather than advance. Sanchez is tying to control. velasquez wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Sanchez trying to mount his opponent but velasquez defends it. Sanchez takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Sanchez prevents velasquez from improving his position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. velasquez is breathing heavily. Sanchez trying to mount his opponent but velasquez defends it. Sanchez performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
That's three minutes gone in the round. velasquez is not content to let Sanchez control the position. Sanchez thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed velasquez's head.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Sanchez misses with a takedown and velasquez counters with a takedown into side control. velasquez throwing strikes but Sanchez manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control! velasquez trying to control but Sanchez flips him over like a cheap hooker and has his back! Sanchez is persistently looking for the submission but velasquez is defending it well.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A bit of a pause in the action here. Sanchez controlling the positon. velasquez is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Sanchez off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted. Sanchez punches the canvas rather than the man. Sanchez is looking to control velasquez but velasquez is wriggling around and keeping busy. Oooh a big shot gets through from Sanchez. Many more shots like that and the referee will have to think about stepping in!

That was a close second round but I would say that Anthony Sanchez will probably get the nod. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! And we move into the final round!
Sanchez gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and velasquez counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Sanchez slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Anthony Sanchez overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Sanchez is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Sanchez looking for a guillotine here but velasquez defends easily.

That's one minute gone in the round. velasquez wants to control from the top but Sanchez keeps moving. Sanchez is trying to keep velasquez in close.
Sanchez wants to sweep but no luck. velasquez prevents Sanchez from getting back to his feet. Sanchez wriggles free and stands up. velasquez takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. velasquez has his takedown stuffed and Sanchez counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for velasquez! Sanchez is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. velasquez can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Sanchez stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing. Sanchez tries to clinch up but velasquez circles away and keeps his distance. Sanchez tries to clinch up and velasquez counters by clinching up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sanchez jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as velasquez walks away with a smile on his face. Sanchez gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Sanchez looking for a takedown here - he's got it. velasquez really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Sanchez. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Sanchez in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Sanchez forces his way into half guard. Sanchez trying to control the action but velasquez is working from the bottom. Sanchez postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for velasquez to stand up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Nice takedown defense from velasquez. No joy for Sanchez on that attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Anthony Sanchez. That's going to take a lot out of him. velasquez misses with a wild combination.
Sanchez misses with a leg kick and velasquez counters with a single leg into guard. Sanchez didn't expect that. Sanchez wants to stand and escape but velasquez is having none of it. velasquez wanted to stand there but Sanchez had control of the position. Sanchez throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
jose velasquez has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Anthony Sanchez is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. velasquez must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Sanchez controls velasquez momentarily but velasquez frees himself.
And that's the end of the fight! Anthony Sanchez showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Sanchez, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
