Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
11 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jalmari Pullo! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
23 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Corwin Anstey! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Timothy Bukovac and .
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pullo looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Pullo decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Anstey is looking to control Pullo's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Anstey avoid being mounted? Anstey blocking the ground and pound attempt from Pullo. Pullo is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard. Anstey utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Pullo throws a big elbow that misses. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Anstey wants to get back to his feet but Pullo is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Anstey trying to control the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Anstey wants to sweep here but Pullo controlling him for the moment. Anstey wants to stand but Pullo is controlling the position. Anstey is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Pullo tries to clinch up. Pullo misses with a right hand and Anstey counters with a straight right hand. Anstey just misses with a punch to the body.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Some bone on bone action there as Pullo checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one. Pullo throws a lazy uppercut
and Anstey counters with a left to the body. Pullo checks a leg kick. Pullo misses with a double jab.
Anstey on the wrong end of a nice hook. Pullo shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Anstey but Anstey pushes him off and we're back to square one. Anstey drops his hands momentarily and Pullo takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Anstey lands with a nice body punch. Pullo dives in and grabs Anstey's left leg, looking for a takedown. Anstey pushes down on Pullo's head and hops out. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jalmari Pullo. That's going to take a lot out of him. Pullo misses with a two punch combination.
Pullo darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Anstey is trying to get back to full guard. Anstey is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Pullo's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Pullo's back! Anstey tries to get the hooks in deep but Pullo pushed the leg off. Pullo breaks Anstey's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Anstey is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Anstey controlling Pullo's posture. Anstey trying to keep a closed guard but Pullo is proving a slippery customer.
Pullo throws an elbow that misses. Anstey uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Pullo's guard. Nice move by Anstey! Hammerfist, elbow! yells Anstey's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Pullo has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Anstey has passed into side control.
Pullo is looking for a sweep. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Corwin Anstey will probably get the nod. That's time! Pullo's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Anstey scores with a hook to the body. Pullo takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Corwin Anstey seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Anstey shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Pullo napping and manages to drive through into side control! Pullo gets back to half guard. The fighters are battling for position here. Pullo manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Anstey landing some decent shots from guard. Anstey sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Pullo's guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Anstey seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Pullo does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Pullo looking for submissions off his back. Pullo tries to roll over but Anstey keeps him under control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pullo is working hard here to advance position. Pullo is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Anstey scores with a couple of nice shots. Anstey seems to be looking for submissions.
Anstey looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Pullo with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Anstey scoring with strikes to the body and head. Anstey is nestled in close to Pullo, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Anstey looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Anstey takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Pullo is rocked!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Anstey seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Oh Pullo is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Pullo wants to improve his position but Anstey is controlling well.

Anstey looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Anstey frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Anstey connects with a bit shot that sees Pullo covering up! More strikes from Anstey and the referee jumps in to stop the fight! Anstey is our winner by TKO!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:37 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Corwin Anstey! A less than humble Corwin Anstey misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
