Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Carmen Avery! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Bernard Dunne! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Don Winkell and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Avery gets tackled into the cage by Dunne. Dunne maintains the clinch. Avery jumps guard but Dunne turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. Dunne jumps guard.
Avery won't allow Dunne to sweep him here. Avery postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Avery throws a big elbow that misses. Dunne working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Avery. Avery in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Dunne striking off his back but it's not causing Avery any problems. Avery distracts Dunne with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Avery postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Dunne looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Dunne preventing the sweep. Dunne stands up from Avery's guard - Dunne perhaps looking for a knockout. A low kick from Dunne is predictable there and Avery counters with a slapping leg kick. Dunne gets caught napping as Avery dives in and scores a takedown. Dunne manages to retain guard. Avery stops Dunne from standing up. Avery working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Avery throws a big right hand that misses. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Avery accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Dunne controlling Avery's posture. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Avery manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Dunne doesn't succeed with the takedown and Avery moves into the clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Dunne is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Avery is keeping busy. Avery is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Dunne to keep the fight standing. A frustrated look appears on Dunne's face as he tries to break the clinch. Avery misses with a shot to the kidneys.

Avery is working an open guard so Dunne takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Dunne fails to land the takedown. Avery appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick. Carmen Avery has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bernard Dunne. Dunne has his takedown stuffed and Avery counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Dunne throws a push kick but Avery slaps the foot to one side. As Dunne looks to move away, Avery throws a big counter combo but Dunne just gets out of the way. Dunne rushes Avery and presses him up against the cage. Avery tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Dunne lands with a nice body punch. Dunne lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Avery at a distance.
The fight moves into the clinch position. Dunne lands a hook to the side of the head. Avery tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Dunne smiles and moves away.

Both fighters are breathing heavily. Dunne looks to land a combination but Avery avoids it well. Avery gets in close and instigates a clinch. A right hook to the body lands for Avery.
Avery tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Dunne smiles and moves away.
Dunne lands a brutal head kick. Avery looks out on his feet and Dunne throws more strikes until the ref is forced to stop the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:34 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Kick and Punches). Bernard Dunne! Bernard Dunne tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
